how did you guys end up finding your internships you've done?

I've been lookin a little online and haven't had much luck finding anything
craigslist, simplyhired.com, indeed.com, monster.com .

just search internships along with your degree in ur search.

let me ask your guys opinions on this...

so I'm taking a Human Resource Management course... because it's one course in the Corporate Management option (which was gonna be my second option)

If I were to go with accounting would I be better off choosing Finance as a second option? or do you think corporate management as a second option with accounting as a main option would look good to employers?

The thing is if I don't do Corporate Management or Human Resources as an option then that class is pretty much pointless for me to take... my first class is on Thursday... I'm wondering if I should drop it and try to get in something else... which will probably be hard... or just drop it and say fuck it for this quarter

yeah... that's pretty much what I was thinking...

damn... I might have to stick with 2 classes this quarter then...

and it looks like it's gonna take me another whole quarter to graduate if I go with Accounting/Finance... or I could go with Finance/Accounting and graduate the same time as I was going to before...

I just don't know...

Look at the economics of he decision, how much that extra quarter would cost in comparasion to not doing it, when the jobs r goin to be available, how much money this extra school will help you earn.......keep doin that and make a decision

shit homie ive been applying EVERYWHERE..tech jobs, small companies, large companies, everything in between..its just really tough right now, so im lucky to have my five days and 40 hours with trader joes..

yeah don't apply to a company called "first investors corporation"..u should see this place bruh; you have to pay for your training ($1,000 the day AFTER your interview and it has to be in CASH), pay your travel costs, MUST work 9-9 monday and friday, etc etc..watch out for them

yeah bro... also watch out for a company called Kinetic

I went in for an interview... they had me come back the next day for a "full day interview"... the spot was in Concord and they had me go with em out to Livermore... half way through the drive there I finally really figured out what kinda job it was... so I was stuck with these dudes all day... walking around for 8 hours in dress shoes, a shirt, and tie... watching em try to sell tickets to random people and businesses... I think they made about 2 sales all day... $15 per package they sold... workin on straight commission...lol and tried to convince me I'd be makin so much money doing this shit and would be a manager in 6 months... makin 75k plus commission within a year... I just lol'd and when we got back to the office I hopped in my car and bounced... told em I didnt even wanna do the rest of the interview... fuckin bullshit

i am working on my BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I have been going to school part time since 2003 and I hope to finish by the end of this year. I worked at the Oakland Tribune and GamePro Magazine in their advertising departments. I have 4 years of advertising experience and I have been laid off since March. Advertising and Marketing are really fun and have some very nice perks but it can also be stressful.

It is really tough right now to find a job. Luckily EDD has been holding me down since I dont have a lot of bills and only have a few classes left. So Ive been concentrating on finishing my classes and lookin for work when I can. Media jobs have pretty much gone to shit unless you are higher up (VP or higher) or want to sell advertising. I hate selling anything so I refuse to look for a sales job.

If you are interested in HR, I know it pays really well. I know people who make $30+ per hour doing HR.

yeah I have considered HR as a career somewhat

actually the job I was just laid off of was helping in the payroll department... but I also did a lot of work with Human Resources... I was there for 2 years

so I guess that wouldn't look too bad on a resume for accounting jobs or hr jobs...

I dunno I gotta think about this

whatever you decide just pursue all possible avenues and opportunities with persistance. people who go to school and cant utilize their education have no one to blame but themselves. bad economy and all.imo. all education is good education. good luck.

One of my best friends got the same degree a couple years ago and he got a great PM job for a contracting company. Sometime you gotta start at the bottom cuz he didnt really make shit for the first 2 years he was there. Thats a common misconception with kids who just graduate from college a 4 year degree most likley isnt gonna give you a 6 figure salary fresh outta college.
