Just curious what option of is your degree specifically in? And how do you like your job? Was it easy to find a job? etc... etc..

I'm kind of goin through a dilemma with what I wanna do. I was planning on making Marketing my main option and second option in Corporate Management. However, I've been doing a little research, looking online about marketing jobs, and finding out that it's extremely hard to get a job in Marketing, and most people with a Marketing degree end up doing sales... which I don't wanna do as a career. I wanted to get into something like Marketing research or product management.

From what I'm reading accounting pays very well, and it's really easy to find a job, even right after graduating... and job security is great. I do like working with numbers, and I've always been pretty good at math... but I feel like maybe it will be too boring.

I guess Finance is another option I could consider as well

So far I've just been doing required courses for any Business Admin. degree... soon I'm gonna have to get more into my options, and I need to make a decision for real. Also need to try to get on some internships.

Props for anyone who has knowledge/insight/opinions on this subject...

What exactly is a business administration degree? Is it like a AA degree? Or is this what you are majoring in at a 4 year college.
Getting a MBA is good to

I'm talkin about a Bachelors degree

I have an AA already... which is just in 'Transfer Studies'

pretty much useless... just got it while I was taking community college courses before transferring to a CSU

and yeah I plan on getting my MBA... my plan is to get my Bachelors (hopefully) find a decent job with it... then go back and work on my MBA and be able to move up and make more money

i have a BS in Business Admin with a Finance concentration. when i started with this shit i was positive i could find a job somewhere in the financial services industry, but i have been done with school for 6 months and cannot find shit. shit sucks. i even had two different internships with citigroup and hoped it would turn into a FT job but the company, like the economy, started going down the shitter.

u probably are smart enough to know this already but no matter what you choose, your best bet is to get some kind of internship (paid or unpaid). ive kind of gave up hope on the financial services route and am thinking about going to USF and get my masters in sports management.

just got my ba in bus admin with option in professional accounting. i really just started looking for a job this week (my gpa aint the best tho) accounting is good if you like it. finance and accounting go hand and hand. a lot of jobs want a person with a degree in finance or accounting. thats how close they are. i find accounting pretty easy cus its black and white. you can only do certain things and its the same everytime for that transaction. it pays good like you said and job security is good. not to mention you can do your own thing becuase you know how to keep your books. so you can do the most with your money and not waste it on irrelavant shit. marketing is fun but that shit more like common sense to me anyways.

cant really tell you bout job experiences as im looking but id go accounting/finanace.

edit: there is no need for masters in accounting unless you wanna teach or write research papers. becoming a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is equivalent to a masters, kinda. its only a like a 14 hour test broken down into 4 sections and if you fail a section you only have to retake the section(s) you failed. so thats kinda tight. there are some review classes for around $1,500 that you can take and are really good this one has a 86% pass rate. thats much cheaper and easier then getting a masters.

i know one person with a business admin/accounting degree and found a job right after graduating. given the current economic state, i think everyone who is going to graduate in the next 1-2 years is gonna be fucked.

if you are planning on getting an MBA, then i dont think it really matters what you put your emphasis on.
I majored in political science, there were 3 choices of emphasis, public policy, law, and government. I chose government, and now im goin to law school.

thats tight you are getting an MBA, i wanted to get one but i suck at math
