those guards are going to fuck around and let them starve to death

::

like its the guards fault that they're choosing not to eat....i dont think the guards care either way...sure the hunger strike brings attention but really who are the prisoners thinking they're hurting?

what exactly do they hope that starving themselves will accomplish?

Being cut off from the outside world causes serious issues. Probably the WORST thing you can do to somebody. PLUS, it makes conditions worse 'cause people are pissed off and mentally fucked up.

To top it off, if cats were allowed out of their cells longer, they wouldn't have 23 hours a day to sit alone and plot some crazy shit. It's a bad look all around.

dont you have to do something hella bad to get put into the shu in the first place? I had a friend who did time in pelican bay and he said they put dudes in there for injecting people with aids and things along those lines

last i heard from my homie who did time in this states facilities, he said you could wind up in the SHU for damn near anything

it used to only be on section of one unit of one compound in pelican bay, now its an entire wing which i believe holds over 420 inmates, but dont quote me on this

either way, its never right to cage someone in a sound proof box with no human contact for 23 hours a day, thats not something i can wrap my mind around in 2011

i thought the SHU was the outdoor cages or it that were they get their 30 minutes of outside time. All I know is that I never want to go to prison, especially that place.

it used to look like this

it since has changed to include soundproof walls and doors, and no windows for viewing, only a few small slits that allow some light in

What about the homies that are in there that didn't do shit? They in there only cause they didn't say shit?
I don't give a fuck. Your in there for a reason. I'm sure there's a very small % that are in there totally innocent, wrong place at the wrong time type of bullshit. But for the most part, everyone in there is affiliated with gangs or drugs in some way whether they committed an actual crime or not. That's what happens when you hang out with the wrong people. Stay away from known sources of crime and you should be good to go as a citizen.

Theres people in the SHU that not only mentally breakdown..but physically too..

There's this fool named Cowboy from Bassett Grande in the SGV who got some kind of disease from not being exposed to any kind of sunlight for like 10 years...

the general misconception people have is that in prison you get free food, a free bed, and you even get free cable and get to hang out all day with your criminal buddies. its hard for people to feel bad for these guys when they falsely believe all of the above, and at the same time theres assholes suing the government for stupid shit like not being able to watch as much porn in jail as he wants

^your blissfully unaware of the poverty in this country

so everybody just do crimes on who ever you want when ever you want and blame it on this countrys poverty, even though most people that are "poor" arent doing shit to land them in prison.

thats why blacks and mexicans keep stayin down, we use this scapegoat victim shit when ever we fuck up.

i knew someone was talkin shit on me and what do you know...ol shea bitch ass...bringing me into a conversation i could care less to be in...its nice to see though that you stay mad at anyone that disagrees with your opinion....but i did watch some TV last night and i did find out that 98% of the prison population are innocent...again my mistake...i was under the impression that people did "crimes" to end up in jail...its good to know...im gonna go write some letters now and demand that prison walls be torn down so that the prisoners can have a better view
