As of May 2001, the Rampart investigation, based mainly on statements of the admitted corrupt cop (Pérez), implicated over 70 officers of wrongdoing. Of those officers, only enough evidence was found to bring 58 before an internal administrative board. Of the 70 officers named by Pérez, only 24 were actually found to have committed any wrongdoing, with 12 given suspensions of various lengths, 7 resigned, and 5 fired.[3] As a result of the probe into falsified evidence and police perjury, 106 prior criminal convictions were overturned.[4] The Rampart Scandal resulted in more than 140 civil lawsuits against the city of Los Angeles, costing the city an estimated $125 million in settlements.[5]

Let me break down my reply a little better and justify my response. First the 90's baby comment at the bottom is my weak attempt at half serious humor, I rag on 90's babies as a constant joke, kinda like Fubu always says tiddies and areolas, breh, Fill with tacos, MTT with porn gifs, the 90's baby thing is my constant running "gag".

Now as far as the first part of my reply I actually was serious, I understand theres alot of people crooked cops have fucked over getting them trumped up charges, I know theres people serving long prison bids over shit like marijuana, it's fucked up and I truly do feel bad for people living in a horrible place like prison because of a petty crime or trumped up charges, it's yet another flaw in an already horribly flawed system.

My comment was made because we all have to look through the eyes of various people in different situations. I'm gonna bring up a couple of horrible stories that happened to people close to me to show people why I believe people that do horrible things should get treated like that.

My mother was a teen mom, when I was 4 she was 20, one night she left me with a baby sitter and went out and partied with some friends and as she was leaving some crazy rednecks up and decided they wanted to have some fun, my mother was kidnapped for 4 days, beaten to a bloody pulp repeatedly, raped repeatedly, and tortured. She escaped by falling out of a moving vehicle 4 days into this bullshit in front of a gas station, people at the gas station called the police and the rednecks that did this were caught later. My mother was never the same, to this day she takes handfuls of pills everyday due to being left partially disabled and having various mental issues.

Story number 2, when I was a teenager I had a good friend of mine, beautiful girl, smart as hell met a dude from another school at a party, dude said he was gonna give her a ride home. On the way home he tried to get with her, she declined, he decided to break her jaw and her nose and rape her anyway.

What i'm sayin is sometimes you gotta look at both sides, you think I give a fuck if those dudes that fucked my mother up for life get "rehabilitated"? I hope they lived like shit and got treated like animals in prison.

I'll say it again though I do feel bad for the people that don't deserve to be in prison, but there are animals in there that do deserve to be treated like animals. Would you want somebody living good that did something horrible to your mother, father, brother, sister, good friend, etc.?

So Duke of Earl you can "really really not like me" all the fuck you want, but i'll stand by people that do horrible crimes should get a horrible punishment.

The people that are siding with the prisoners are not talking about the people you are talking about and the prisoners that are doing the hunger strike are sure the hell not standing next to some rapist and working together.

The thing is, the people you are talking about do not make up the majority of the prisoners and even those people are not excepted amongst other prisoners. Should the rapist be treated horrible, sure and the general population in prison will agree with you.

Are all the crooked cops who plant evidence and lie on reports white? It's not like you have a bunch of cops handing folks over to the judicial system without false information. What are the courts supposed to do? Ignore what the police wrote?

Get it right, folks...the cops aren't all white...and the courts go by "evidence" presented to them...no matter how true or false it is. And a lot of the time, they don't know. Rampart is a perfect example of this. The courts found out about a bunch of bullshit, and immediately released the inmates.

Also, juries and judges come from all kinds of backgrounds as well.
