Probably one of the most powerful movies I've ever seen. I went with Sonny Bonoho, Sarkastik and some other folks......and from those who know the bible they said it was very accurate and extremely detailed. I felt like I needed to go to church when I came out of the theater.

I just got back form seein it at the 9......

Man, I thought it was actually dissappointing, I grew up christian and have heard the story a million times, it was nothing new to me other than the fact that they projected a very graphic version of the story in the suffering Jesus had to endure...I felt it was missing something and thought the ending was very weak......

This movie is not powerful in the degree as lets say, schindler's list or braveheart......it just isn't classic material......

that is only my opinion tho....see 4 yaself

i saw the movie two days ago and to be honest i felt the extreme volence of the movie rally overshadowed the story, also i felt that that prtrayl of the jewish people in this movie was very wrong, and because of this there is going to be allot more anti semitism towards jewish people, and me being jewish myself i was kind of offended by this it is funny to me that this movie is portraying the jews as being the reason jesus was put on the cross although a couple of years ago the pope renounced this idea and said that it was completely wrong,

Why are you worried about something that happend many years ago dealing wit your heritage? If someone wants to talk shit to you for being Jewish after seeing this movie, all I got to say is that person must be a stupid ignorant muthafucka. Don't get offend over a movie, shit happends everyday MOVE ON.

First off....I'm not trying to offend anybody or their heritage.

But from what I know....the movie was pretty much on point. I've had numerous conversations with numerous people over the past couple days about it and everybody agrees that it is historically on point.

With that said I look at like this....yeah it shows the Jews unfavorably.....but THAT'S what really happend! Or is there something that I missed?

And as far as the violence.....was that not accurate as well? How can you candy coat what they did Jesus?

first, the pharisee's aka high priest lead the idea of the crucificion.
when it got hype, his(jesus) peoples turned against them. remember this:: that all jews didnt turn against jesus.

jus to conclude this:: It was prophetic in the book of Isaiah, "prophetic promises concerning the suffering of Jesus". Before he was even born. It was written that God's son was to die.

^ Exactly... It was written that Gods son was to die... it doesn't matter WHO killed him. As for the jews being portrayed negatively, that's a bunch of bullshit. It's historically and bibically correct and there is no if, ands, or buts about it... The jews didn't kill Jesus, they snitched on him and the romans carried out the killing. I don't see anybody bitching about the romans. And who actually killed the physical man is pointless... 1. It's not like anybody is going to start hating on the jews or the romans because they killed christ, so what's the point of bitching about it and saying it's anti-semitic. Unless you have a Nazi symbol on your chest like American History X you're probably not anti-semtic. 2. The actions of a few (the high priests and there followers) shouldn't spoil it for everybody FOREVER. Even if you want to say "the jews killed jesus" it means nothing in terms of todays Jewish people.3. Jesus died for all our sins as it was written. This was his ultimate purpose on earth. He was there in the beginning, for it is written so in the first chapter of Genesis. He was the last high priest and the last sacrafice.

mmmkay!
