there's a lot of stuff that can cause it... weed, drinking, pills, lack of sleep, stress.

Remember its all in your mind, and you won't die.

You need to notice the on set, and quickly divert your attention... learn to mediate. Weed is weird for some people is can surpress these feelings/ to others it intensify's it
to me it intensifies it... thats why i quit

I don't get panic attacks but at times I get an irregular heart beat and it stops me from doing anything, usually after I jump.

But its to do with caffiene I think.

I remember I used to get mad pannic attacks when i was like 11 years old. I would get them in school and outta school. I remember one time in school I started having a panic attack n I freaked out! I really thought I was going to die cuz I couldnt breathe, and I didnt know what was happening. And I know for sure that its all in your head. For some reason when i was younger, I thought eating fruit would help it, so I ate an apple during a panic attack and it went away almost immediately. Im not sure how to get rid of em, but just remember they are all in your head, so theres usually a way to get rid of them.

The Reason The Apple Helped Is Cuz Like Everyone Is Sayin, It Diverted Your Attention Away From Not Being Able To Breathe (Or Feelin Like You Couldnt Breathe)

@Sydal, Get A Sleep Study Done Bro, I Have A Friend That Had Similar Panic Attacks, And He Ignored Them For Bout 2 Years. One Day We Were Chillen Smokin A Blunt In The Park, And He Mentioned Sumthing About How He Felt Detached And Couldnt Understand What Was Goin On, Got Up To Walk Toward The Bathroom And Collapsed, Literally Face Planted Into Cement...Since Then He Suffers Seizures On A Regular Basis, Shit Sucks

Try To See A Doctor To Rule Out Any Heart Problems, Or Sleeping Problems, And Like Everyone Said Before Me, Meditate And Start Yourself On A Healthy Diet...Caffeine Is All Bad To...I Hope You Can Overcome This Shit Bro, Good Luck

I never got them really bad, i knew a couple of people who were put on xanax for that kind of shit it never got that bad for me.

Just curious Sydal what are your symptoms of a panic attack? They differ from person to person and knowing them and how to handle certain ones help a lot.

Get fresh air and deep breathe too. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth and don't concentrate on anything but doing that.
Well they usually start with something that my mind thinks is detrimental. For example, a pain in my left shoulder. Then a deep breath isn't as deep as I want it to be, and it goes from there. This is all followed by sweaty palms, a feeling of detachment (nothing going on seems real at the time), I get lightheaded, and I feel like I can't breathe (even though they say, if you're talking you are breathing...so I try to talk as much as possible during an attack). When the episode is over, I'm drained and want to go to sleep.

I used to be good at gettin' rid of them, but they weren't as intense as they have been lately.

NEVER GOT ONE. DO U JUS START TRIPPIN OUT OR WUT? SOUNDS LIKE SOME SHIT THAT HAPPENS TO THE WEAK MINDED
A thought usually triggers it, and you can go through it without anybody even knowing about it. I personally have a very strong mind and great control over it (I can make myself physically ill at any time), but sometimes this shit just gets the best of me. From what I understand, this can stem from lack of sleep, stress, p.t.s.d, basically anything that can be considered a life changing event, caffeine, or genetics.

Doing what I do with music and what not, I've been both extremely stressed and haven't been sleeping lately. I think I get an average of 4 hours of sleep per night. PLUS, I drink a LOT of caffeine.

@Armen...it COULD be serious, but I seriously doubt it is. I've been getting these for probably 6 years or so, and it runs in the family. My brother gets these pretty bad, too...and my mom used to get 'em when she was younger.

anxiety disorders are kinda like fear of fear,

when you get a quick spook or worry, your nerves overreact, then you start to worry

etc... just don't worry about being worried

example:

1)you're stressed out and your throat muscles tighten, you try to swallow a peace of food but you're throat is too stiff, you start to worry about choking, you feel that you cant stop it and you start feeling scared that you are choking, panic attack

instead of that, you could do this

2)you're stressed out and your throat muscles tighten, you try to swallow a peace of food but your throat is too stiff, you start to worry about choking, you notice that you are overreacting, but instead about worrying about it, you simply take the food out of your mouth, drink some water and stretch your neck a little

if its a life changing event, just accept it and move on, dont pity yourself

you usually get them from not accepting reality, excessive boredom or just being a coward

no pun, that anxiety shit could be tricky

remember, when you get that nerveous pulse, just dont worry about being worried

It's a LOT deeper than that. It's not fear of fear that sets off panic attacks, it's certain things that you feel that make you believe you are about to die. People who are scared of real things, phobias...which aren't the fear of fear, but the fear of something else for whatever reason...public speaking or enclosed spaces. I personally don't have any phobias. Most panic attacks come out of nowhere, and the symptoms are similar to those of a heart attack, which is why people end up in the ER so frequently when having a panic attack.

example:

1)you're stressed out and your throat muscles tighten, you try to swallow a peace of food but you're throat is too stiff, you start to worry about choking, you feel that you cant stop it and you start feeling scared that you are choking, panic attack

instead of that, you could do this

That's easy to say, not as easy to do. Most of the time, these attacks can be managed and under control within 5 or 10 minutes, but sometimes you get one that lasts an unbelievable amount of time. When you're talking an hour or more, the longer it goes on, the longer you trip. Shit, 15 minutes is a LONG time to think you're dying. Sometimes the mind is just stronger than the person using it.

WOW! Tell that to people who just got home from war that suffer panic attacks because of Post-Traumatic stress. Did you know the simple death of somebody close to you can cause Post-Traumatic Stress, which can cause these attacks? A car wreck can cause it. It's not self-pity, nor is it the inability to accept reality or being a coward. In my case (and the case of many others), it's a predisposition and certain things trigger it. It can be shit that's in your head that you don't even know is there.

do you stress alot? they say stress and anxiety is linked to panic attacks as well.
Yea...my whole life is stress, lol. I didn't use to think I was stressing as much as I do, because I'm a pretty calm cat and I don't really let shit get to me. But they say you can stress about shit and not even realize it. So, I started paying more attention to myself and yea, I stress like a motherfucker. Not just mentally, but physically. I'm up 'til all hours of the night working on music, sleeping a couple hours then I go right back to it (I do this 7 days a week). I'm sure it's stress, lack of sleep and caffeine intake together...

just realize if youre gonna die youre gonna die and stop trippin about it

or get a albuterol inhaler, theres no way you arent breathing if you have one, except for respiratory depression
HAHA. We all gotta go. Funny thing is, panic attacks fuck with me more than the thought of death does. Death doesn't bother me, because it's inevitable. Many people say panic attacks are worse than dying, even if they've never been near death, because it's so frightening and uncomfortable. When you're dying, you reach a state of Euphoria which makes it a fairly comfortable process. Natural chemicals take over and ease pain. When you have a panic attack, there is no comfort.

I'm not too big on drugs or anything, otherwise I'd be at the doc for some tranquilizers. I'm going to have to start living a healthier lifestyle and see if that doesn't make shit better.

i thought i was havin a heart attack & went 2 the hospital & they hooked me up 2 a bunch of machines & told me im 2 young & healthy 2 hav a heart attack & it was a panic attack. that was like 2 months ago & i never had 1 b4 or since. it was nuts, i started laughing & i almost passed out, my chest felt really tight, i couldnt breathe & my legs were shaking, i had a sore throat & could hear people talkin 2 me but couldnt concentrate or answer simple questions. in retrospect i think it was just the purp. i was just high & freaked out & thought i was havin a heart attack & panicked when i was at the hospital.

everyone has or will experience atleast one panic attack in their lifetime. Back like 2 years ago i was getting them 3-4 times a week. I started being more active, eating healthier, sleeping a little earlier (sometimes) and drinking more water and shit like green tea for energy instead of energy drinks (they fuck with you good and are bad for you) now i dont get them. I do get nervous sometimes but thats normal.

That shit happens more often than people think. Emergency Rooms get TONS of people who think they're having coronaries, but they're really just trippin' out. Fuckin' nuts.
