Mayweather better not step in the ring with Timothy Bradley, because he will no longer be UNDEFEATED. Money May better stick to fighting Mexicans on Cinco De Mayo. He don't fight Black Boxers anymore, Damn Shame. The last Black Boxer Mayweather fought was an aged Sugar Shane Mosley, who rocked him two times by the way, lol. Timothy Bradley poses the BIGGEST THREAT to Floyd Mayweather Jr. True Story
Which black boxers have been at the top of the 147 or 154 weightclass that people have been begging for him to fight? Only one that really comes to mind is Berto before he started taking L's. Why does race matter here?

Race matters to Mayweather. He has said before that he wants to fight fighters that have a country backing them up. He prefers Mexicans tho cuz on those holidays its known that they want to watch a huge boxing event. Now with Khan, he wants some euro dollars coming in and that's why he is willing to fight Khan. With Maidana, the buys might not reach 1 milli, but the Argentinian audience will watch, and cuz of his crew and the win over Broner Mexicans have "adopted" him. So yeah, it matters from a business stand point. I mean, Danny Garcia is fighting a Mexican boxer in PR to try to win PR fans over cuz he's not known as a legit PR fighter. Race will always make a difference

After Timothy Bradley beats Manny Pacquiao, again. He will be #2

Ring Ratings Update: Bradley climbs pound-for-pound top 10

Undefeated two-division titleholder Tim Bradley made a huge jump forward in THE RING’s pound-for-pound rankings with his impressive split-decision victory over future hall of famer Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday.

Bradley (31-0, 12 knockouts), who won by scores of 116-112, 115-113, 113-115, deserves to advance from his No. 8 spot to No. 3. The 30-year-old Palm Springs, Calif., native is a three-time junior welterweight titleholder who currently holds the WBO welterweight belt. He has defeated nine former or current major titleholders, including Marquez, Manny Pacquiao, Devon Alexander, Lamont Peterson, Kendall Holt and Miguel Vazquez.

Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KOs), who vehemently disputed the official verdict of the Bradley fight, will drop from No. 3 to No. 6.

The new RING magazine pound-for-pound top 10 is as follows:

1. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

2. Andre Ward

3. Timothy Bradley

4. Wladimir Klitschko

5. Sergio Martinez

6. Juan Manuel Marquez

7. Manny Pacquiao

8. Adrien Broner

9. Saul Alvarez

10. Guillermo Rigondeaux

You can't take The Ring pound 4 pound ratings seriously anymore. In the past, the p4p ranking were done by a poll of dozens of boxing writers. Now however their p4p rankings are done by ONE guy. The fact that he has Broner #8 and Rigondeaux #10 tells you all you need to know - it's a joke and pathetic.

There you go again being a hypocrite. I said Stevenson should have been in the p4p and you went on praising Ring and not having him on. Now you are saying the P4P is a joke? And yes, I do agree with you about Broner and Rigondeaux. IMHO, Broner shouldn't be on the list and Rigondeaux should be higher. In fact, he should be higher than Pac.

Thank you for doing nothing to prove a good point. Bradley got embarrassed in the first fight and earned one of the worst decision victories in recent memory. Wins a split decision against Marquez, who is 40 years old. Then you're also going off of their P4P which speaks for itself as the punchline to a joke.

I said I disagreed with Stevenson being fighter of the year, I said I didn't care or not if some people had him top ten. I didn't praise the ring I said "No one's p4p list has Stevenson top ten" (which was at time time of that discussion).

ANd if you you look at my history I have constantly said the rings p4p rankings are a joke the moment they changed everything (,like when they had Broner #5 after beating Demarco for example).

KO Digest and Boxingscene have Rigondeaux #3 behind Floyd and Ward. I think ESPN has Bradley #3 and Rigondeaux #6 or something (dan rafael absolutely hates Rigondeaux though).

Ashanti and manny Pacquiao are now exchanging love notes

By Kevin Davis

Another day and another visit to the Wild Card gym by R&B sensation Ashanti, to witness the training of Manny Pacquiao. Ashanti and him both exchanged their music disc, but to deny there is a human connection between the two, which has grown since Pacquiao camp has started is an understatement. Many feel Pacquiao focus may be off, going into the most important fight of his career, against Champion Timothy Bradley.

Timothy Bradley is not an easy fight for Manny and his is the fighter that cost him a Floyd Mayweather fight in many people minds. Can he shake off the flattery of the beautiful Ashanti and get back to being the explosive Pacquiao, the fans have grown to love, or are we taking this too far. It's not Ashanti's fault she is attractive and is a Pacquiao fan, she just wants to motivate manny to do great and we shall see if this pays off.

Manny is more relaxed and is trying very hard to impress Ashanti when she is there, with speed punches and grunts, it's like he's a teenager again. This may be his most fun camp yet.

Manny Pacquiao better stay focused, because Timothy Bradley is. Ashanti is distracting him, he will have plenty time to fuck her after the fight, shit, lol. Say BYE BYE to Pacquiao, because he is done, you can stick a fork in him.

'Public backlash will fuel Bradley'

ABS-CBNnews.com

The immense backlash that followed Timothy Bradley’s controversial June 2012 win over Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao will only serve to motivate the unbeaten American, according to respected trainer Naazim Richardson.

Bradley was infamously awarded a split decision that allowed him to annex the WBO welterweight belt, but the result was criticized by analysts and fans alike such that up to now few outside of Bradley’s team believe the American was the rightful winner.

Speaking to On the Ropes Boxing Radio, Richardson said all the hate that Bradley received will fuel the fighter heading into his rematch with Pacquiao on April 12 in Las Vegas. [

“The public has to be careful with what they build up,” said Richardson. “(Saying) ‘I thought Pacquiao won, I thought Pacquiao won, I thought Pacquiao won…’ Stuff like that fuels Timmy.”

“For Timmy, it’s more about the controversy that people put on him for beating Pacquiao,” he added. “I didn’t see it to be that controversial. I think the public and the media beat him up so bad, that people want to act like he did not win the fight against Pacquiao.”

Richardson noted that beating Pacquiao two years ago should have been a great moment for Bradley, but it was instead tainted by controversy.

“I think he wants to go back and prove something to everybody. I saw the dude do an interview after beating Pacquiao, and it looked like he was gonna cry,” said Richardson. “That’s how bad the public treated him.”

“It should have been his greatest moment, and he looked like he was about to cry.”

Bradley himself acknowledged that he wants to erase the controversy of the first fight with a clear result this time.

But this may also backfire against Bradley, warned Richardson.

“It’s going to play into fuel for this guy against Pacquiao, and I’m hoping it doesn’t play into the kind of fuel and he runs out there and does something stupid, because Pacquiao is still a dynamo,” said Richardson.

Despite his concerns, Richardson is predicting that Bradley will beat Pacquiao – this time in decisive fashion.

“Tim’s now going to beat up Pacquiao in this fight. I would not be surprised if Timmy definitively beats Pacquiao in this fight. I would not be surprised at all,” he said.

Pacquiao: I Won at Least Ten Rounds Against Bradley!

Question - The perception is that you sacrificed punching power against Rios in favor of speed in order to outbox him. How much did the result of the Marquez fight impact your strategy against Rios? What will be your strategy against Bradley?

Manny Pacquiao - “I was very happy with my performance against Brandon Rios. Speed has always been a major weapon for me and I used it throughout the fight against Rios for one simple reason – it was working. The power is still there and I used it effectively against Rios to keep him off balance. Freddie and I came up with the game plan to mix things up against Rios. I would utilize my speed and foot movement in boxing him to keep him off balance then when he would come in out of frustration I would land the power punches.

“The one thing I learned from my fight against Marquez was patience. When I had him teetering I became reckless and went in to finish him. I was careless and he landed the perfect punch. That was learning a lesson the hard way. But I learned it. I still have the killer instinct. I am not afraid to use my power and go for the knockout. But I will remember the lesson I learned from my last fight with Marquez. Knockouts need to come naturally, you should not force them. But Freddie likes knockouts and I like to make Freddie happy.

“I won at least 10 rounds against Tim Bradley the first time we fought. I intend to win all the rounds against him this time regardless of the length of the fight. He said I have lost my hunger and that my time is over. Everything I am doing in training camp is aimed at proving to him just how wrong he is. I have all the respect for Bradley and what he has accomplished but I have no fear of him. He has inspired me to exceed my previous performances inside the ring. If Bradley wants to meet the fighter who stopped Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera, he’s going to get his wish on April 12.”
