I lived in Canada for 2 years, still go there once a year. Most of my family is up there by Toronto.

You guys are lazy as fuck, dont try to deny it. Everything closes early. No one has any motivation to do anything. Your post office and banks are closed on the weekends. It's just a care free country.

Don't get me wrong, I love the place. I would love to retire in Toronto. Yet, the carelessness leads to things like this. People getting hurt on the track, one dying, and holy shit your mechanical arm at the end of the show didn't even work. It's straight embarrassing.

F your health care benefits. You guys have a population of less than LA county and are taxing people at 30% percent. Your sales tax is 15%! If the US raped its people of taxes like that we would have health care too. We do have medicare/medical just for those who need it, and the ones who can afford it just buy health insurance. It's not that expensive. Plus your health care doesnt cover dental and eye care, and those premiums are through the roof!

Be back in Toronto in October.

I lived in Ontario. It was 8 + 7. One was the province and the other was the county. It's insane.

Ya, I have a good friend in Edmonton. It's a little different out there.
Alberta is an exception West Coast Canada. I'm not a big fan of BC, Van, Victoria, etc.

Actually the reason dude crashed was because he made an error in steering his sled. The reason the mechanical arm didn't raise is because the opening in the stage got stuck and it was delayed so long because they had to re-program the machine to only raise 3 of the arms instead of 4....

People are taxed at different percentages according to their income.

me too Mac, another one of those ignorant, misinformed americans blabbin his mouth off....Sales tax differs in each province. Our province doesn't have any Provincial Sales Tax....BC has 7% on top of the Goods and Service Tax which is 5% and the GST is mandatory. The Provincial Sales Tax only applies to certain purchases. Each province is run by a different government and therefore they have different budgets and require differing amounts of PST to fund their social programs....I guess I'll stop it at that; probly too much for your brain to comprehend there, sorry rump......

I saw today that they have built a wall on the track to protect other riders from the poles.

It's sad that it takes something as serious as dying to have extra safety measures put in place.

One person who was being interviewed said he never heard of anyone flying off the track before but I have some doubt there. Those people are flying downhill.... I want to watch some luge damnit!

don't they have a version of luge where people go down the track head first?

Several people crashed and got injured on that course, he wasn't the only one. The mechanical failure is a joke, there are no excuses for that. They messed up, point blank. I'm not talking out my ass, the majority of people I see in Canada are way too relaxed. They do half ass shit.

Yes, people are taxed based on brackets but your brackets are inflated. My cousin makes 42K and get's taxed 30%. Where as 42K here will pretty much put you at about half of that.

As I stated in my last post, it was 15% where I was. 8 + 7.
I filed to get my GST back, and your government sent me a check.
The minute I feel like taking advantage of your health care I will. From OC to Detroit metro straight across the border in a bus...right to the Western Medical Center in Ontario and they won't deny me. I just like your free loving government, snow and easy to get at snow bunnies. That's all my brain needs to handle...

I just want to comment on the Luge incident, that was Canada's fault. We held a Country wide meeting and thought up a few ways how we could make this years Olympics more exciting and dangerous. Just wait till you see the Bobsledding event!
