hip hop doesnt have a heart beat, it cant die......if you older folks that cant stand the music kids listen to today then dont listen to it....and ask YOUR momma/dad if they like your music.....theyd probally say no....

hiphop was made by the youth , for the youth.....the YOUTH right now are doing there own thing.....just because it looks/sounds different doesnt mean its DEAD

I personally do not believe it is dead, it will never die, I'm just using the common catchphrase right now. But I definitely believe it is hurting.

the thing is its not about alive/dead...its allways going to be around...

all your options in the poll could be argued about in its own way.....that doesnt mean a whole "culture" is dead?

did all the dance fads kill the "orignality" in hiphop today? sure.....

did everyone banging blood or crip in the early 90s kill the orignality then? yes....

payola been in the music industry forever...and will never leave...."underground" artist never sell millions of records no matter what genre...

see were im gettin at here?

hip hop isn't dead cause its a culture with alot of shit in it, but the spirit of hip hop is dead in mainstream rap. Rap is like a stand alone entity now, at least mainstream rap -it's just a genre of music that steals from hip hop, and exploits hip hop while shunning hip hop for glam, and fake gangsterism. But hip hop will outlast rap...mainstream rap will die cause it takes too long to reinnovate itself, and it doesn't have hip hop to rely on anymore.
