we will end up signing a free agent point guard. there are a few available and now we have money to spend.
baron wanted to go to his home town his whole career and now he finally gets it... he woulda stayed with us had we offered him a nice extension... but i dont blame them by not offering it. baron could gain weight and get injured again; he isnt getting any younger.
ellis might not be fully ready yet but i have no doubts that he will be able to handle it and make another huge improvement. jackson will surely help develop monta more along with helping our other youngsters.

didnt Nelson want Ellis to step up to play PG late last season? i bet thats why the warriors didnt really want to extend Baron's contract because they were already planning to build a new team with Monta as the main star player.
but with Baron gone, i think the team is gonna have a hard time gettin back into that "We Believe" attitude. i just hope the Warriors pick up somebody good to replace Baron's spot because it might take Ellis the whole season to get use to running things on the floor. but damn....the next 7 days are gonna be real interesting. lets see what the Warriors end up doing.

we then made an offer at elton brand... that was apparently unsuccessful
there are a few teams that want ellis but we would be dumb to trade him
the dispute with baron and the warriors was over guaranteed money. we only wanted to offer him 2 years instead of the 5 years he wanted without incentives.
the best pure point guard in free agency is duhon. hes a good passer/playmaker. other free agent point guards include anthony carter, beno udrih, jason williams, sebastian telfair, carlos arroyo, smush parker, tyronn lue, earl boykins, jannero pargo, fred jones.
the best restriced free agents are josh smith and emeka okafor then maybe ben gordon, luol deng, delonte west, josh childress
the best non restriced is probably corey maggette... others include ricky davis, james posey, jamaal magloire, devean george, roger mason, kurt thomas, robert horry, bonzi wells, francisco elson....
