Well then you can get a little dual core or quad core set up for like $300, maybe cheaper. I only suggest to get a laptop if your in college or you honestly go to places and need a laptop. Even the most expensive laptops have horrible specs compared to a Shitty desktop.

What I would do is call corporate and tell them you brought your machine in because the speakers were crackly out of nowhere and they dropped it and are refusing to fix it. Stick to your guns and say they dropped it, right in front of me and acted like it didnt happen, then they wouldnt fix it because they said I did! I just wanted to speakers looked at!

Stay calm, cool and keep saying you didnt do shit and there's no way it's your fault. They'll fix it for ya just to shut you up.

By Corp, I mean Dell Corp btw.

I'm going to call corporate anyhow. I don't see why they can't refund me the original warranty and then let me pay the extra 50ish bucks to get the one I thought I was paying for in the first place.

The fact that the thing is a little broken isn't really the issue at this point. It's just I KNOW I'll spill something on it or damage it further eventually, and I need the coverage. It shouldn't be my damn fault the guy sold me the wrong shit. I even spent extra for two years instead of one, so it's not as if I was in there nickel and diming motherfuckers, ya know?

And honestly, had I known I was only buying basic coverage, I wouldn't have wasted the money at all. Close to 700 dollars might not mean shit to some of you, but that's a big fuckin' loss to me. I really feel like I'm getting fucked. If it were my fault, that would be one thing, but this is ridiculous.

Dell wont be able to help you with a warranty purchased through best buy. The warranty you bought was more like a convinience charge to bring your laptop in to best buy week squad for repairs (they are an authorized service center) instead of wasting time with shipping to and from the services centers. It is a BEST BUY warranty, not a Dell. You have 1 year limited with dell, you essentially just bought another 1 or 2 years same shit warranty but with a store and not the actual company.

I know, it certainly is quite the scam. I've reemed out best buy employees and they just took it like I was someone special. Never EVER buy warranties unless it's with the actual company that makes the shit. ADP (Accidental Damage Protection) is pricey so only buy it when you need it since it's cheaper than a new machine all together.

For now, you're fucked. that warranty doesnt mean shit to anyone, especially dell. Like I said, I'd go to corp and complain about bullshit because the only records Dell will have is if there was an actual repair done on your machine as the parts orders are through the same program. Repair notes might not. If they didnt repair anything or order parts, dell has no idea what you do with best buy or if you're lying so lie like a motherfucker and get your shit fixed.

For anyone who cares, I went through the Best Buy corporate number. Eventually they helped by calling the store and telling them to replace my puter. So I'm on a new one right now.

The colors don't seem correct to me... the gamma seems off, whether I fix it or not... I dunno. Video seems too fucking dark at times and at other times they seem way too light. But fuck it... New puter is better than no puter.

I'm going to rock the Dell warranty for now and look into upgrading it through Dell rather than Best Buy. I dunno... I'm glad they replaced my shit (eventually) but I'm still wondering where my buck thirty went as far as the original bullshit warranty goes.

I really appreciate the help from the people who actually tried to help.

Well this is my first laptop. Perhaps my last. I enjoy the convenience, and to be honest I'm not a guy who buys new puters every few years (my last one was a ten year old desktop). Also I'm not a PC gamer aside from old Fallout or C&C titles so I'm good as far as hardware goes.

i just got a new laptop last october..had a stupid dell desktop computer for 10 years also.

my suggestion is if you have any relatives or friends in the military buy it there. no tax and warranty's cover accidental. on top of that you can always reapply for warranty when your time runs out.

took my bro there this past 4th of july. he got the same one i got.

laptops are the way to go they are a lot faster and stronger than most desktops were 5 or 10 years ago.

i don't think i'll need anything better for many years to come.
