First off, everybody has a different opinion on what makes up a great MC. So nobody should be bashing anybody else's picks. This is YOUR top ten FAVORITE MC's of all time. Nobody is going to have the same list and some people are going to have what you consider to be odd picks. Including myself.

1. E-40: Been my fav for 10+ years now. Has a unique delivery and flow that has influenced many of todays rappers weather they know it or not.

2. Brotha Lynch Hung: Impeccable delivery. Brought in a new gangsta/sicc style that changed the sound of Sac rap. SOTS is a classic but, IMO, Loaded is the album that forever cemented his place in west coast rap history.

3. Tech N9ne: Has the best combination of lyrical ability, delivery, content and flow of anybody ever.

4. W.C.: One of the most underrated MC's IMO. One of the best deliveries in the game (yeah, delivery is a HUGE factor for me). Is a little redundant as far as content but always finds new ways to say it and keep me interested.

5. Scarface: The REAL king of the south. Anyone who says any different has no clue what they are talking about. Has a knack for painting a picture in your mind with his words. Great storyteller and has a voice that makes him sound like an authority on whatever subject he is speaking on.

6. Crooked I: The best pure lyricist I've heard. And yeah, delivery is on point. He can flip any style. Sure he doesn't have an album out but he has enough material available for me to know that he is just flat out one of the best ever.

7. Ice Cube: Not much explanation needed. Cube is a living legend. Period.

8. Mac Dre: The least lyrically gifted on my list. But he was clever and witty enough to make up for his lyrical simplicity.

9. Ice-T: The first to really put it down for the west coast lifestyle. He was talking that pimp/playa/hustla/gangsta shit when the west was just starting to get some exposure. Was ahead of his time in that regard and is a west coast rap forefather.

10. Spice 1: Dope delivery and flow. IMO he was THE gangsta rapper of the early to mid 90's. And his reggae/stutter spit was sick as fuck. His career went downhill fast but not before he dropped 3 for sure classics and 3 more really good albums.

The what could have been category:
The D.O.C.
Rappin Ron
X-Raided
Big L

The couldn't choose one over the other category:
Big Boi & Andre
Eightball & MJG
Bun B & Pimp C

The close but no cigar category:
Rakim: Brought complexity to rap lyrics but career was WAY too short.
Eazy E: Mostly for his vision and the way he shaped the west coast sound.
B-Legit
Too $hort: Yeah he's simple but fuck you BIIIIIIIITCCHHHHHH!!!
Kurupt: He's shit now but in his early days he was a fuckin beast.
Suga Free
Mac Mall
MC Ren
Yukmouth
San Quinn
and many more......... Im tired of typing
This is real good shit homie, good explained and I feel that list to for the same reasons.

heres 2 lists from me, one is the right now and the other is all time.

RIGHT NOW

01. Lupe Fiasco (best all around rap skills out right now)
02. Royce Da 5'9" (his word play is ridiculous)
03. Tech N9ne (comes correct on every damn album and song put out)
04. Crooked I (he got me into mixtapes again he's so good)
05. Joell Ortiz (moving up my list fast his metaphors beat out Meth)
06. Eminem (killing all the supposed best rappers on there own songs, love it)
07. Raekwon (Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 was the best surprise for the past 2 years)
08. Method Man (lyrically dominate and metaphors are always crisp)
09. Nas (FINALLY came back to his old self on Distant Relatives)
10. Ice Cube (after his single i can not wait for I Am West)

ALL TIME

01. Nas (his 1st album is listened to atleast once a week in my household)
02. 2pac (only rapper IMO that was more like a poet with his rhymes)
03. Notorious B.I.G. (best wordplay of all time IMO everything he spits is just filthy)
04. Lupe Fiasco (the cool became an instant classic 1st listen, that NEVER happens)
05. Eminem (so good that he can do the dumbest shit and still get away with it)
06. Tech N9ne (once again has yet to dissapoint on ANY album, collab even hook)
07. Method Man (mainly young Meth but was just gritty and raw and never changed)
08. Royce Da 5'9" (almost everything he spits is a classic if he wanted it to be)
09. Ice Cube (if it wasnt for him not alot of people would be in my list)
10. Zack De La Rocha (so much emotion and aggression on top of amazing rhymes)

HONORABLE MENTIONS (in no order)

Kid CuDi (his mixtapes are unbelievable and album is so different in a good way)
Bizzy Bone (1st 2 singles were FIRE but after that.....)
Jay-Z (never liked him but he seems to be getting better the older i get)
Kanye West (if he actually rapped about shit i cared about he might of made the list)
Xzibit (1st 4 albums are crazy good)

I dont have a list but right now Stevie Stone is one of my favorites that is currently doing it. Why? Because of his flow, diversity, lyrics, and the beats that he has on his tracks are always dope. He can also shut it down on the stage.

@Krazee

You put way too much time into that, and I lost a lot of respect for you on the Kanye thing. That dude is horrible, no matter what he raps about. That guy could make a whole song about ME being cool, and it would still be trash. I wouldn't even call that dude a rapper. He speaks over beats. If this were 1988 he'd be dope, but it's not, and he's NOT. He's one of those dudes, that if I saw him on the street, I'd fight him out of principle. Kanye West is on Fred Durst status IMO.

@Casper

Eminem is one of the hottest mc's to touch a mic. I'm not his biggest fan but that dude puts people to shame with his writing. As a writer I think he's one of the GOAT. Dude wrote and recorded a whole album of nonsense, and went number one.

see the thing is i dont like himas arapper but thats only cause i dont really care for what he's rapping about, dude has alot of talent on both spectrums and i can respect that part of him. he is however a peice of shit and it shows in his raps which is the main reason i dont like him. but his 1st album showed that he had potential to be a real good rapper but it all fell apart when he got money/fame. shit went to his head.

I dunno man.. I don't even know the song or the line, but that one song where he's like "What I do? Act more stupidly"... That song is so horrible I'd prefer to stick pencils in my fucking ears than hear that shit.

And I've never heard anything too hot as far as production goes from him either. I honestly have no fucking idea how he became so popular, and why someone hasn't punched him in the dick yet.

And dude... how are you going to give him an "honorable mention" in your list of the GREATEST RAPPERS OF ALL TIME and then say you don't like him as a rapper?
