we can sit here and measure dicks all day, but the Northwest is never gonna change.. muhfuckas out here are either brainwashed by KUBE or they just don't like rap.. the support of local rap has increased slightly, but so has the numbers of rappers.. you can't keep support when your biggest fan started rappin' yesterday.. no matter how close a muhfucka is to gettin nationwide exposure.. the community doesn't wanna get behind that dude because "they rap too".. I can be almost anywhere in Washington and sell a decent amount of my cd's and have about 10-15 people telling me why they don't/won't support it.. now when I go to Canada or anywhere else outta state in the U.S., I don't have these problems.. they ALL embrace it. you gotta think: if you're in a small ass state like Washington or Oregon, and damn near everybody is tryin to start doin this rap shit, imagine how many of their friends and family are gonna only support them and not you.. I get that type of bullshit every day and I sell more units than a majority of you so-called hustlas out here.. I give props where props is due, though.. them dudes know who they are..

thats real but real music listeners is going to buy good music regardless........If individuals are stuck on just buying what there friends are making good or not......then the NW isn't ready for the exposure, due to lack of loyalty to good music....rather than there homeboys.....

A lot of good points in there but just don't call Washington a small ass state b/c it isn't.

Washington is the 15th most populous state in the USA, Seattle-Tacoma-Bremerton is the 13th most populous Metro Area. There are many smaller states (Tennessee, Missouri, Louisiana) and a shitload of smaller cities (Memphis, New Orleans, Cleveland, St. Louis, Sacramento, Kansas City, Virginia Beach, Raleigh-Durham) that have made a much bigger impact on the rap game.

Our lack of success definitely isn't due to lack of size, unless you want to make it partially about race b/c many of those places I mentioned do have a lot more black people even though they have less people overall.

anyone ever tried tapping the foreign market? europeans and japanese mufuckers love the underground shit. they're facinated by american culture and the stereotypes of the inner cities of america, regardless of what city it is. those surenos rappers are constantly doing shows in japan. just across the border you have canadians liking and emulating the shit.

Ive come to notice 4 types of artists in the northwest

1. They just aren't good to begin with.
2. They do not relate to the audience they are trying to sell to.
3. They take too long to put an album together.
4. Too lazy to promote the music

There are a lot of capable artists in the northwest but 9.5/10 people I come across fall into one of these catagorys. Its sad really. People complain about the Top 40 hip hop sound but your complaints and going against it wont sell anything. Give the people what they want and give it to them to their hearts content and you will sell more records.

If you're calling yourself a fan of NW rap music, on here posting about why the NW ain't blowin up, wantin the NW to blow up etc then you have got to put your $ where your mouth is.

If you desperately want the NW to blow but you ain't doing your part as a fan then you're a hypocrite.

I meant that if the same people asking why N/W aint this why they aint that when will the N/W Do this when will they do that, if they would take the time to purchase it would help generate sales. And i'm talking about real artist that really do this not the fruity loops folks you trying to play me as homie i got releases right now buy some music.....
I get you. I just think that there's too many people, like you said, with fruity loops, trying to sell CDs, which in turn makes other artists in the area seem less credible unless they've really pushed units. That's just my opinion, but I'm pretty critical of where I spend my money...especially if I can't return something I don't like. If someone's music sucks, I'm going to say I think it does, but it's not to bad mouth them, I usually give feedback with reasoning.

But my main reason for not buying NW CD's as much as I could is the fact that most of them fucking suck. A lot of the shit that I hear isn't "good" in my opinion which is why I don't buy shit anymore. I've been to enough shows where people sell CD's and I buy like 2-4 per show, and I have yet to really LOVE one of the CD's. I think the only CD's that I've purchase AT a show that I liked, were Crytical's album, and Neema's new one, and I got them at the same damn show, which says a lot.

I recently got Sonny Bonoho's mixtape, and I like that, but it's rare that I find myself wanting to spend my money on CD's. The other reason I don't buy CD's is cause I witness some people's behavior and that turns me away from their music instantly. It doesn't really matter if they're tight, I can admit they are "good," but I won't ever buy their CD's cause I don't support cats that disrespect people who give them feedback or just their own honest opinion....if you can't stand criticism, then music is not the career for you (not speaking to anyone specific, just saying in general).

I get a lot of CD's for free though too.

i honestly cant think of 100 good Northwest Cds that are even worth purchasing lol.
^That's very true. Keep in mind also, that not everyone has the same taste. You can't just buy a CD because you want your area to blow...PEOPLE NEED TO MAKE QUALITY MUSIC THAT PEOPLE CAN'T WAIT TO BUY! That doesn't happen, cause 95% of the NW artists don't have good social skills (they're assholes with huge egos) and they have no dedication to marketing themselves to everyone, which is one of their biggest downfalls.

If its tight, i'll buy it....but like dude said theres way too many wack rappers out here to buy 100 fuckin albums from NW cats....thats 1000 dollars I could be puttin into my own album.
And I TRY to support these cats, but the shit is WEAK....I know you know what I'm talkin about. Besides how many muthafuckas got their shit for sale in Spokane??? Or even come here and do shows?? TRYING to blow up? I think not.

I hear Mr. DOG, UA, Cool Nutz, and a couple other cats out here doin shit, aside from that one big ass show Craziness put together a couple years back for Hoopfest.

Dont trip thought once my shit gets goin and I start to generate some bread I'll be bringin some people out here.... Who wants to network?

I got love for everybody doin their thang, but alotta these guys need to hop in the back seat, shit aint for everyone

I feel you guys, obviously if you know the music is bad you shouldn't buy it. And also obviously, people's tastes vary quite a bit.

But in my opinion, there are easily 100 Northwest CDs that are great music.
