If you read my post, I call it a (false) democracy. The reality of the matter is we're considered a democratic republic. There's one day every four years when we're a fully democratic nation, and that's when we vote for the President. But even then, it's really the HOR that decides who's the next prez. I understand government Pukokeki, I passed all my classes man.
Countries dislike the U.S.? Or individuals inside countries? Iraq itself is split down the middle. And when you're "the most powerful nation on the planet", you're expected to stop things like genocide, euthanasia, and other crimes against humanity. The world designated us as the police when our economy, government and infrastructure became the envy of the world and we were asked to protect (through two world wars) everyone and get them on their feet. Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan... we helped our allies in all those situations, and they wanted our help. You're obligated as the most powerful nation on the planet to take care of everyone else. Saying to step out of foreign affairs is like telling every player on your team to create your own shot instead of using screens and P/Rs on the basketball court. You think if N. Korea has a nuke we should let them go on the merry fucking way? Why don't you give loaded handguns to middle school kids during lunch time and see how many get out alive.
Just like all the Jews had the choice to just walk out of the stoves the Nazi's put them in? Tell me how much a plane ticket costs to go from North Korea to Hawaii. OH WAIT, THERE ARE NO PLANES FLYING OUT OF NORTH KOREA TO HAWAII! You can't sit there and assume every country on the planet has the same freedoms we do.
Three nukes would destroy our entire nation, and that's all N. Korea needs to wipe us off the map. One for the west, one for the mid-west, and another for the east coast. And I'm guessing they're not going to send a memo to us if they do decide to initiate any type of violence. Just cuz you got the smallest dog in the ring doesn't mean he won't come out the only one alive.
Saddam was a fascist dictator who committed MASS crimes against the Iraqi people. GWB taking all of our money is one thing, but killing thousands upon thousands of people and hiding them in mass graves is quite another. Don't give me that "but what of all the American lives lost in Iraq?" bullshit either, because when you sign on the dotted line you're fully aware that you may be required to go to war. And no, jail wouldn't suffice. If you killed 100 people here in this country, you'd be put to death. Who in the fuck on this planet would benefit from Saddam being alive? Evil people with selfish principles.
If you paid any attention, I suggested a highly skilled trained team of military personnel, (i.e. Green Berets, S.E.A.L.S, et al.) to do the job of assassinating one man. And I don't know how many of your military friends would "lay down in confusion" for anything, but mine sure as fuck would not.

I stand on the middle. Everything is subjective to the circumstances of the situation. I'd love a peaceful planet, but when you have ignorance there won't ever be peace. And ignorance is always part of humanity. I don't like war or murder. I like shooting guns, but I don't like shooting them at people. However, If it came down to my life v. your life, best believe I got a quick trigger finger... and I'll pray for your soul immediately after, though I'm not religious I'd do it out of respect for your beliefs or family. Im not religious at all, but God is seen as a supreme spiritual being in every religion, the idea of God (or Allah, whatever you prefer) is interchanging and transcends language and culture, it's the details surrounding "God" that are different.
