the U.S. needs to end its attempts to spread democracy

ok we have so called democracy here but fuck let other countries do them

the U.S. has always been an imperialist nation it's a fact

the desires of the U.S. people in many cases are different from the U.S. govt's so when the threadstarter was saying we blah blah blah I couldn't take him serious
the U.S. has never been imperialist, with the exception of Roosevelt and his "banana republics", which even then was just taking advantage of other peoples land for our own economic benefit. Doesn't fit the definition of imperialism. The British colonies? Taking all of India? Germans taking every square foot of Europe possible in the 20s and 30s? That's imperialism.

Implementing a democratic government in a land where the reigning government already has a revolution on their hands (Iraq), or implementing a democratic government where the people are begging and pleading for one and getting shot over it (Iran), or implementing a democratic government where there's a fascist dictator 1984ing the entire country (North Korea) IS NOT American imperialism.

I understand that "fuck, let other countries do them" mentality for about two seconds. Okay, let one man ass rape every guy in his country and turn off ever light to every house in the land but his own. Sure, let him do the very things we're against here in our (falsely) Democratic nation. Genocide? Let it happen. Fuck everybody, lets just "do us".

but what you don't fucking understand is when his power keeps growing and growing without being checked, all of a sudden he's trying to eye our slice of pie thinking its looking pretty damn good. Then what do you do? "Oh shit, we should have stopped that crazy son of a bitch before he got to us".

Just like Saddam.

Now I'm not saying I agree with going to war with Iraq, but I am saying killing Saddam was a good idea. And sending some covert military tacticians to murk Kim Jong Il isn't a bad idea either. But you've also got to understand you have to shoot the shit out of the rest of the body after you cut off the head. The leader has followers who will stop at nothing to continue his bull shit, and you have to murk them too.

This is the problem with being the president. Half the nation wants to give blowjobs to kittens and puppies and have peaceful foreign policy. The other half wants to nuke every nation on the planet that isn't America.

So no matter what happens, you're either "too hard" or "too soft".

Invade N. Korea: Obama's on a war path just like Bush!

Get invaded by N. Korea: Obama should've stopped them a long time ago!

I feel Obama knows that just as easily as any other educated man, he's just trying to figure out a way to negotiate before we have to just start bombing people.

Are you implying that the US government is a full blown democracy?

Implementing a democratic government in a land where the reigning government already has a revolution on their hands (Iraq), or implementing a democratic government where the people are begging and pleading for one and getting shot over it (Iran), or implementing a democratic government where there's a fascist dictator 1984ing the entire country (North Korea) IS NOT American imperialism.
It doesnt? And who assigned us to be the world fuckin police in the FIRST place? Do you ever wonder WHY many countries DISLIKE the US?

I understand that "fuck, let other countries do them" mentality for about two seconds. Whats wrong with that? Life is life. If someone wants OUT of a plcae like that, let them do so. People have fled places like Iraq, Iran, and India...its not people DONT have a choice.

but what you don't fucking understand is when his power keeps growing and growing without being checked, all of a sudden he's trying to eye our slice of pie thinking its looking pretty damn good. Then what do you do? "Oh shit, we should have stopped that crazy son of a bitch before he got to us".
No, because there arent many POWERHOUSES on the planet like the US, period. To feel that a relatively SMALL country would have the gonads to ATTEMPT to start a WW in this day and age is ridiculous. Do you HONESTLY think that N. Korea even stands a SMALL chance against US/China/Western Europe? If you answered "yes" to this question, move to N. Korea.

Just like Saddam.
What about him? Are we still looking for the WMD that we were promised? And if Saddam can get put on trial for crimes...how come G.W. BUsh & Co. get to walk away scotch free???

Now I'm not saying I agree with going to war with Iraq, but I am saying killing Saddam was a good idea.
You dont think jail would have sufficed?

And sending some covert military tacticians to murk Kim Jong Il isn't a bad idea either. But you've also got to understand you have to shoot the shit out of the rest of the body after you cut off the head. The leader has followers who will stop at nothing to continue his bull shit, and you have to murk them too.
Or, the troops will lay down in confusion when no one is barking orders at them, and they dont fear for their lives.

This is the problem with being the president. Half the nation wants to give blowjobs to kittens and puppies and have peaceful foreign policy. The other half wants to nuke every nation on the planet that isn't America.[.quote]

And where exactly do you stand?

I feel Obama knows that just as easily as any other educated man, he's just trying to figure out a way to negotiate before we have to just start bombing people.

It all comes down to China, we all know this.
We won't just Nuke NKorea right next to China unless they allow it to happen. And they won't. So, China must insure that NKorea doesn't do anymore stupid shit.

Thats not what he is getting at. If we were to fuck up N. Korea on some nuke shit, China is RIGHT there...and they dont want uranium spills on their borders, period.
