The 49ers expect Michael Crabtree (foot) to be ready to play late in the exhibition season, a source tells CSN Bay Area.
Beat writer Matt Maiocco still expects Crabtree to be held out until Week 1, even if he is cleared to play in the fourth preseason game. Regardless, owners shouldn't chase talent in this case. Even though Crabtree is watching every practice with an orthopedic boot on his left foot, he's missing valuable on-field time in a new regime's offense. The Niners also signed Braylon Edwards and Crabtree's foot woes are bordering on chronic. He's just a flier at this point.

The man who was recently proclaimed the greatest player in NFL history has a new job.

Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated reports that Jerry Rice, the former 49ers wide receiver who came in first in NFL Network’s ranking of the Top 100 players of all-time, is ESPN’s newest NFL analyst.

Rice will appear on NFL Live, SportsCenter and Audibles, on which he’ll work with his former 49ers quarterback Steve Young. He starts on September 15.

Lmao!! Damn Iron, did u just give MJ props saying MJ>Kobe?
lol I think someone else is the GOAT of bball but I aint even going to try to get into that discussion. What I was trying to say is that Rice is on MJ's status where they can pretty much question anybody's work ethic and no one is going to say anything. Since they're known for having worth ethics and winning drives second to none.

hahahaha, wow. sorry for making fun of your boyfriend, didn't know you were so deeply in love with each other.

if you've had too many concussions to function properly, then you probably shouldn't have a job on tv, talking for a living.
