You like this? What about if you see a used game on craigslist for lower than what the greedy retailers sell it for, want to buy it, buy it and as soon as you insert the disc a screen pops up and it says "Sorry, but this game is used and can't be played on this system. Please eject the disk." You still like the sound of this?
I don't buy used games because I don't know what that dude did with it, he could of shoved it up his ass for all I know and put aids all over it.

that's pretty stupid...
Selling your game to a retailer for cheap and buying a used game for a massive mark up is stupid. Stopping used games all together will stop retailers making money off us they don't deserve.

It also screws us over because if we buy a brand new 60$ game we won't be able to get rid of it unless it is for free. How can we return a shitty game thats already open and USED if they don't accept them anymore.

How are we supposed to know unless we play it? Some of the worst games I ever played received a ton of praise too = Infamous

On September 4, 2010 Infamous was ranked fifth in "The Top 25 PlayStation 3 Games" of IGN, stating that "when Infamous was released on PlayStation 3 in the spring of 2009, it quickly became clear that this was unlike any sandbox game anyone had ever played."

really^ lol

Sure. I bet you don't eat out either, for all you know the guy in the back could have shoved his hand up a goats ass, licked it, used the same hand to jack off, shoved it back in his own ass and cooked your tacos.

I have yet to buy a used game, a true gamer knows what games he wants and does his research. Then there is gamefly or a friend to borrow or trade. I dont agree with this though cuz its messing with my freedom to do what I want with my games.
What the fuck is a true gamer?

And buying games day 1 serves absolutely no purpose because 1.) the DLC (if there is any) will be sold at a later date and 2.) an online pass (if required) can still be purchased. If you want to hit these people where it hurts and send a message to them, the best thing to do is to buy used (and I'm not talking gamestop.)

this might be complete bullshit.

wouldnt this start with the pc game first? since those have been passed around since backing up floppy discs?

i could give a fuck either way, the gaming industry is going in the wrong direction and i am about done with all their bullshit. hiding 5mb dlc on a $60 game u bought. cod charging a fee for a SUPER SHIT game that was released 2 years before. i could go on and on but things need to change.

And if they (the companies) really want to stop the used game market all they have to do is go the digital download route.

PC has done that for years, it's cheaper than buying retail. Console will too, it's only a matter of time and games will be cheaper for every platform.

We use STEAM for PC games, 3rd party program and they have deals on games everyday. Also they have super sales at points in the year where games are dirt cheap.

Problem with consoles not going down that road entirely is because the HDD's are still in infancy. That might change with the next gen consoles.

Games will drop by 10-15 dollars and then the companies will find a way to hike the price back up to $65 or even more. HDD's for consoles aren't in their infancy. You can install your own HD in a PS3 and the 360 allows for games to be installed on thumbdrives. So this isn't a matter of hardware.
