they said on ESPN that the Pac 10 expansion wont take effect until 2012

This is common knowledge, as a team must give a 2 year warning in most AQ conferences.

However, a team can "buyout" their contracts with a conference if they so chose, and it is approved by the conference. However, the buyout could be millions of dollars. Colorado MIGHT do it.

im happy for BSU, i have alot of love for em after they beat us in the bowl game a few years ago, which was one of the most entertaining games ive ever seen. good for them, but they are gonna have a harder time going undefeated year in and year out now

The lastest on the Texas issue, per a poster on ESPN boards who heard it on the lcoacl Austin radio staion:

Texas, OU, OSU, TTech are already committed to join the Pac 10. Big 10 is not in the equation, despite other rumors you may have heard. These 4 schools are united in this particular move.

TAMU is strongly considering the SEC. The other schools oppose this for several reasons - one, recruiting in the state, and two, rivalries.

The statement was made that IF TAMU goes SEC, the other schools will react by NEVER scheduling TAMU in any sport going forward.

We're talking TAMU never playing Texas, OU, OSU, or TTech in any sport for the foreseeable future.

If the Pac 10 lets basically all of the Big 12 South in except Baylor the Pac 10 becomes the strongest conference in America and the Big 12 teams dont really have to do anything different but Add games @ Zona and ASU....Big 12 South was the best or second best division in college football for tha past 4-5 years....

Now that Nebraska officially jumped ship this is probably gonna move pretty fast....Im assuming by Monday we'll know a lot more....local radio said there is already a deal in place for Texas, OU, Tech, & OSU....they're just trying to figure out who the fifth team will be.....

there is no way TCU is going to the pac-10, jsut like baylor, the pac 10 doesnt want these ultra conservative schools meshing with the pac 10 liberal style. pac 10 says no to bible thumpers.

i would like Fresno to join the pac-10, they no worse then oregon state, but i don tthink the rest of the pac-10 would want there players smelling like shit and horsefly dingleberrys when they come back to campus and contaminating their campuses.

just imagine they would have to quarintine the players when they got back from fresno in some little bubble chambers like michael jackson did to his chimp bubbles. they would have to do some irridation and chemical washings. it just aint worth it.

Thats a rumor that has been flying around for the last few days. There was a report that the SEC officially invited VT and UVA, but that was dispelled fast.

The SEC is trying to get TAMU, so i think they will wait to see what they do before asking anyone else in.
