...^ ...and nobody on either squad can guard KOBE
Kobe was shut the fuck down against the Celtics in last years finals.
How quick the Kobe nut riders forget that after watching him ball on the ORLANDO MAGIC in the finals.

Its not like back in MJs days when it was man to man coverage, now with the zone if you have a squad of committed team defenders even the best players can be shut down

A Blazers source shot down the team's interest in David Lee, saying they like him as a player, but don't want to pay him what he wants. And a source in Charlotte said the Bobcats are staunchly against trading Gerald Wallace, whom they view as a building block for the team's future. That left Andre Miller as the only known scenario that still had legs. Miller, a 33-year-old point guard who played in Philadelphia last season, is viewed as an old-school point guard, one who passes before he shoots and excels at running the offense

President of basketball operations Danny Ainge confirmed that Phoenix free agent Grant Hill is on the Celtics’ wish list. “We have interest in him,’’ said Ainge, who could offer Hill a $1.9 biannual-exception contract. Hill met yesterday with the Knicks, a team that could offer him considerably more than the Celtics

Memphis, New Orleans, and San Antonio are interested in Glen Davis, a restricted free agent forward, but no offers have been made, according to an NBA source. The Spurs prefer Detroit free agent forward Antonio McDyess. Davis is not high on Orlando’s list. “Not today,’’ Smith said. “I think we like who we like. You can’t make us like who we don’t like. There’s been a lot written about who we like and most of it is not true. We have a tendency to like who we like - most franchises do - so, right now, he’s just not on our radar.’’

But Magic General Manager Otis Smith said Monday that the team isn't interested in Glen Davis, who hit the game-winning shot against the Magic in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Smith's comments came in response to a direct question in which he was asked whether Orlando was interested in Davis.

The Mavericks’ search for offensive help could lead to Shawn Marion, once a dynamic force for Phoenix whose production has tapered off in recent seasons. The Mavericks, according to a league source, are involved in trade talks with Toronto, which is trying to shed salary to make room for free agent Hedo Turkoglu.

As ESPN.com reported last night, the Mavericks are now in hot pursuit of Shawn Marion in some sign-and-trade transaction but league sources said the Raptors aren't going to simply take an offer and run with it. In order to protect the salary cap room necessary to sign free agent Hedo Turkoglu to a contract later this week, the Raptors will only be drawn into a sign-and-trade deal if they can avoid any additional financial obligations to players.

Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley wants to meet with Allen Iverson and is considering a one-year, $5 million offer.
Heisley appears to have changed his mind, as the Grizzlies had originally decided to pass on AI. We're not sure what his role would be, as Mike Conley and O.J. Mayo currently make up their starting backcourt, but Mayo could be pushed to the bench if AI is signed. Iverson is also said to still be in discussions with the Heat.

Under the sign-and-trade deal, the Orlando Magic traded Hedo Turkoglu to the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors sent Marion, Kris Humphries, Nathan Jawai and cash considerations to Dallas, while also sending a future second round draft pick to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Mavericks in turn shipped Jerry Stackhouse and cash considerations to the Grizzlies and Devean George and Antoine Wright to Toronto, while the Grizzlies dealt Greg Buckner to Dallas.
