Naw I'm going to Fort Jackson, South Carolina. "Relaxin Jackson" as they call it. Cuz the majority of women train there too and the sexes aren't separated during training. I heard Fort Benning, GA is one of the toughest basic training centers.
yeh...thats the reputation it has...FT BENNING also has Ranger Indoctrination Program, Ranger School and Airborne school. the heat over there in the summer is NO JOKE....would hate to go thru Infantry OSUT in the summertime over there....

That's not exactly true. Infantry train there for OSUT (One Station Unit Training) which combines basic training and AIT. Other MOS's can train at Benning too, but that only depends on where their AIT training will take place. If they're AIT will take place at a base close to Benning, for example, Fort Stewart, then they will do basic training at Benning. Since my AIT is at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, my basic training will first be done at SC. See how it works?
is that right? didnt know that...is that a recent thing or has it always been that way? FT BENNING has always been "THE HOME OF THE INFANTRY" and when i was living there i was told it was strictly Infantry trained there...
I scored a 70 without studying and after 2 years of heavy drug use.
I got lucky. Study for the ASVAB because the higher you score the better your chances of NOT being on the front line are.

It is the home of the infantry since that's where they train, but it's always been that way. One of the guys in my unit is going to basic at Benning and he isn't infantry.

and another cool fact for anyone who is wanting to join the military...one good thing bout joining the Marines is that once your done and out and wanna join another branch you can do so without going to their bootcamp....but if u were navy trying to go army or whatever you gotta go through their bootcamp again...but if u were a Marine and decided to join another branch then u dont gotta go through shit....jus sign paperwork and thats all....
^^ That is because the Marines boot camp is the longest and most intense.
Navy's bootcamp was fucking easy. We worked out a lot but we also did a lot of folding, ironing and cleaning. Gay.

Damn I didn't know that. I know if you're prior service and join the army you go through Warrior Training Course which is basically a shorter, easier version of basic training.
We shot in boot camp, 9mm, M16 and 12 Gauge.
I personally did not shoot because I got into trouble in boot camp.
I got to load magazines the whole time. I did hear that for awhile they weren't shooting in boot camp but that was not the case in Dec 04- Feb 05 when I was in boot camp.

The guy I talked to said it was basically electronic shooting. The weapons were fitted with lasers and they shot at electronic targets. I guess it was only for a certain amount of time.

they were fitted with lasers to shoot electronically but also air powered to feel similar to actually firing.

Haha treadmills? Damn... That SWCC guy also told me he went through SERE training. He said the only people who didn't pass were most of the women and the Air Force guys lol.

When I was in JROTC we took a trip to an electronic rifle range at Port Hueneme. I don't know if that's how it was like at your boot camp, but there was a huge screen on the wall and weapons with CO2 gas. We shot at the targets on the screen, first the tradition bulls-eye ones, then moving targets in a simulated battlefield. They said they also shoot little BB's out sometimes but they didn't wanna do that so they wouldn't "hurt us" lol.
Ay im bout to go into my basic on the 12th, and then schooling at the great lakes for the navy, what the fuck is there to do out there once i get some liberty
