In early 2007 it will be mandatory that you have a passport (this is true for Mexico as well).

Pre-911, they didn’t give a shit. Now, it can be a hassle if you have some sort of criminal record. It’s a gamble for me every time I go because I have a felony, but if I have my passport they shouldn’t fuck with me and I go right through.

They frown highly on DUI’s, however if you have marijuana charges, they don’t care one bit (reflects their lenient attitude towards drug use).

Cold?More like mild...the NW never really gets colder than 30 in the winter...and might get a snowflake at the MOST....and in the summer it stays arouns 75-80...usually with a slight breeze...

All in all...i DO like the NW...not alot of bugs like the South/East...not alot of snow like the East...not as hot like the South...the only thing we are known for...is rain...and on average...we are around 3oth out of 50 states as far as rain fal per year goes...

Unfortunetly...they hassle black folks alot going through the borders...they think all black men go up there to pimp or sell drugs...there really isnt very many black folks in Vancouver...most "blacks" are either Trinidadian,Jamacian or some other Carribean Islander...even though the border officals are cocksucers...racism is a very minumal thing if at all in the Vancouver area...like i said...its one of the most diverse sities inthe WORLD...there are ALOT of asians/East indian/pakistanians up there...

The people there are nice as fuck too. You can walk the streets by yourself at night and not have to worry about shit. Some cities I've been too I've asked people for directions and sometimes they're assholes, up there they coo as hell. I've even had people on more than one occasion walk me to my destination. I was trippin. Only other time someone did that for me was a homeless dude in San Francisco, but that's cuz I told him I'd buy him a sandwhich and lotto ticket. lol

Canada (part of their gov't) is now working to not do that because of how much it will hurt business. I read something a week or two ago on the AP wire about Canada not wanting it to happen...."because nobody will pay $90 to cross the border to eat dinner or watch a game."

me and my girl went up to niagara with a few friends back in january, and we all got in with just our driver's license. no search, no interrogation, nothing. just a few simple questions (where are you from, where are you going, how long will you be staying, etc.) although i have heard stories of people having to pull off and get searched, so it's pretty much your own risk.
