So don't get one in South or Central America...There are some in the middle of lakes and seas....Either way, water floods, or rain, or tsunamis are always a concern for living on an island....I'd want electricity though.
I know a couple of people who have islands in the middle of Lake Nicaragua......they have all the amenities you could want (including DirecTV and wireless internet).....a short boat ride and youre in a 480 year colonial city....drive a little more (45 min) and youll find some of the best surfing in the world or a 1.5 million person metropolis....:devious:

That would be tight. But they are under the law of that country right? If I had my own island, I would wanna be able to grow as much chronic as I wanted...lol....

Well, I moved to China January 2005, because of my job. First I was sceptical, but now I love it here. I live in the city Xiamen, which is also an island. It is a "small" city with a population of 2 mio. people. Very clean and modern. They plan on making Xiamen the next Hongkong! The weather is nice, summer for about 9 months, Chinese peeps all very friendly, foreigners from all kinds of different countries, and nice clubs and bars!

Where does your mom live?

Just like anywhere, theres nice places and bad places. I haven't seen or heard of any place in the U.S. as nice as Cornwall or Bath(actually cornwall is in Wales but Americans like to call the whole UK "England", it's funny). The problem with the UK is the fookin gloom, (but if you're from seattle it's nothin new). Also Edinburgh, Scotland is a nice city.

The minimum wage here is £5.05 which is more or less equal to $10.00 USD, The average American male makes roughly $18/per hour while the average British male makes £12/per hour (roughly $24USD).

heres cornwall...

I think you can just cross the border if you're visiting.. like in mexico

obviously, if you wanted to live there though, you'd have to become a citizen.
