Rapper 50 Cent will be strapping on the bulletproof vest once again in a video game—but not one of his own. Instead, he'll be making a cameo in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Fifty won't be continuing the search for his diamond encrusted skull, however. The rapper will simply lend his vocal talents to Modern Warfare 2 as "The Multi-Player Voice," according to official site ThisIs50.com. The rapper dropped the news following a visit to Infinity Ward, during which he played Modern Warfare 2 with Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden. No official word yet on whether those two contribute to the game or if Infinity Ward was simply double booked.

Robert Bowling, the developer's director of communications, says that 50 Cent will be "one of the squad voices in Multiplayer / Spec Ops" on his Twitter account.

This wouldn't be the first Call of Duty to feature famous voices, as actors Keifer Sutherland and Gary Oldman played prominent roles in Treyarch's Call of Duty: World At War. Obviously, Mr. Cent is no stranger to video game voice over work, having appeared as himself in 50 Cent Bulletproof and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.

The only question we have is whether 50 Cent can go as deep and hard, (bitch), as Infinity Ward's own Mark Grigsby did in Call of Duty 4...

Update: Robert Bowling from Infinity Ward tells us that 50 Cent is "one of many squad voices" that will be featured in the multiplayer and Spec Ops modes in Modern Warfare 2. Expect to hear Fifty saying things like"Reloading," "Watch your fire," "I'm down, get me up!" and "Tango Down!" according to Bowling.

"He is one of quite a few casual cameos in the game, none of which I can name at this point," Bowling says. "Benji and Joel of Good Charlotte NOT being one of them. They're just good friends with Curtis and came along with him when he was here recently to check out his voice in the game."

Mad Catz Partner With Activision

Last month we reported that a Custom Modern Warfare 2 Controller had been confirmed. In a Twitter post Robert Bowling asked whether concave or convex analog stick grips were preferred by the fans. Later we learned that the controller was being developed by a third-party manufacturer and not by Activision and today it has emerged that Mad Catz has been awarded the license for a line of Modern Warfare 2 accessories, including a specialized controller.

Today Mad Catz announced that they have partnered with Activision and Infinity Ward to develop a range of controllers and accessories. The release also says that the company will develop accessories for all platforms currently announced for the title, which include Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 systems.

Darren Richardson (Mad Catz CEO) – “We are excited to partner with Activision and Infinity Ward to create branded controllers and accessories based on what is one of the videogame industry’s prominent franchises. We look forward to offering unique and exciting accessories to fans of the newest release in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, as we continue to grow and diversify what we believe to be the industry’s leading portfolio of branded videogame accessories.”

Vince Zampella (CEO of Infinity Ward) – “Mad Catz’s innovation and fresh approach from Day 1 has been great, Their team has really poured their hearts into the new line of accessories for Modern Warfare 2 and we can’t wait for our fans to have a chance to play for themselves this November.”

Modern Warfare 2 On X-play

X-play, “Television’s most-watched gaming show” aired on G4TV earlier tonight and featured a section on Modern Warfare 2.

No spoilers or anything new to learn here for the seasoned Modern Warfare fanatic but Adam Sessler gives you a pretty thorough round-up of the game’s storyline, graphics, locales, multiplayer, weapons and Kill Streak System.

Riot Shields In Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Confirmed By Bowling

There has been a lot of confusion over a statement regarding Riot Shield’s being used as a perk in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. In the Power Unlimited MW2 article the writer says that “Bowling let it slip, riot shields will be 100% a perk”.

Today we can report that Bowling has let it slip again, this time from the horse’s mouth, confirming for absolute sure that the riot shield will indeed be a perk in Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer.

In a knives-only CoD 4 community event the following questions were put to him.

“So how is this riot shield thing going to work in multiplayer?”

Bowling – “Oh, it will be a perk!”

“Won’t it be pretty over-powered?”

Bowling – “Not really, there weakness is a flash grenade, whenever they get flashed they lower the shield revealing a nice head-shot, What is really cool is having two people with riot shields crouching down while one person fires over the top of them, it is effective and it looks cool.”

We can also report that the riot shield will require both hands to hold, meaning that you won’t be able to fire a weapon whilst holding it (but you will be able to melee with it). In a post on xbox360forum.com Bowling had this to say

Bowling – “Riot shield guys are defenseless (except they can melee with it) because the riot shield requires both hands to hold, so you can’t shoot when you have it out. Best used in conjunction with another player. Even then, plenty of ways to counter someone with a shield.”

From what there saying the special ops part of the game will be as big as the single player game, should be interesting, wish it was more than two players though.

And another new multi player video will be released next week, and has to do with a very requested perk.

Modern Warfare 2 Special Ops Impressions ( from gamespot.com )

GamesCom 2009 is officially underway here in Cologne, Germany. While the show has a heavy focus on European games, there’s still a huge presence of American games. But few games from the States are as high profile as Modern Warfare 2. We opened the show by checking out that game's new Special Ops mode, which expands on the format of the short, action-packed Mile High Club bonus level from Call of Duty 4 and adds some interesting new bells and whistles.

Special Ops mode now provides a third option for players to select at the main start screen that accompanies the traditional single-player campaign and competitive multiplayer featured in Call of Duty 4. It sort of connects the other two modes by allowing you to play either alone, with a friend using split-screen, or by going online for the full two-player co-op experience. Special Ops provides a series of quick scenarios for players to shoot their way through, moving from one point to another on a modestly sized map filled with enemies. You’ll unlock new levels as you collect specific numbers of stars, with more stars awarded if you play on the higher difficulty levels.

The level we got to see was called Breach & Clear. In this scenario--played single-player by an Activision rep--the player had to use a bomb to breach the wall of a Soviet gulag and shoot through dozens of Russian militia before dropping through a hole at the other end of a large, destroyed shower room. The player planted the bomb on the wall, which exploded to provide a new entrance into the room and triggered a brief but dramatic slow-motion sequence that let him get a jump on the stunned enemies inside.

Once inside, it was that familiar brand of fast-paced Call of Duty shooting through and through. Enemies flooded into the area from the front and up on balconies on the side, keeping the action quick and exciting in much the same way fans of the series have come to expect. The game looked fantastic, running very smoothly even at the peak of the firefight. Some new visual flourishes were on display, such as the redone blood splattering that covers the screen as you take damage. But the one thing that really caught our eye during the quick demo was the inclusion of riot shields. Certain enemies storm into the area equipped with these transparent, bulletproof shields, and when they die, you can run over and pick up their shields. The result is you holding the shield in front of your face in the traditional first-person view when your gun isn’t drawn and putting it away when you need to start shooting again.

After leaving an impressive wake of death and destruction, the Activision rep made his way to the end of the level and jumped through a hole in the ground to trigger the ending. Altogether, he made it through the scenario in about two and a half minutes. A screen at the end showed his finishing time and total number of kills, but he could have pulled up a timer during the actual game by hitting up on the D pad. Otherwise, the screen remains free of clutter to let you focus on the job at hand.

It’s worth noting that Special Ops won’t support perks or customized loadouts, which are the hallmark of Modern Warfare’s competitive multiplayer. There was no customization screen prior to the game and no XP totals appearing above the heads of enemies as you shot them. It was more like the straightforward action you’d find in the single-player campaign. It seems like a good decision on the part of Infinity Ward because the Special Ops mode seems geared more toward improving your finishing time under identical situations rather than unlocking new and better weapons to better your odds.

It may not strike you as much of a surprise considering the astounding success of Call of Duty 4, but Modern Warfare 2 is looking great, with few if any areas to nitpick. Players can safely expect another exciting shooter when the game is released on November 10.

IW announced there will be no public beta
I saw that, hopefully the game is not a bug fest when it comes out as IW has already proven how slow they are to fix glitches and plus the fact that they still have not fixed some at all ( people getting outside of ambush, the rock in over grown etc.. )

Here's anther article on the graphics in modern warfare 2. Small stuff that you wont really notice in the game play but well help some thing in the game over all.

Modern Warfare 2: Texture Streaming
How important are graphics to you? Regardless of who wins in the endless ‘Graphics VS Gameplay’ argument, when you buy a new game, especially a direct sequel to a previous game, you have certain expectations of what that game should offer.

Innovation in gameplay, new features, new weapons, new maps, and of course, a leap in visual fidelity.

I’ve shown you some of the new innovations in gameplay (like the Customizable Killstreak Rewards video) and of course new weapons, perks, and levels within those videos; with more to come as we get closer to launch. Right now though, I wanted to take a look at the visual enhancements we’ve made to Modern Warfare 2.

A major component in the new engine tech that has the greatest impact on these enhancements is our new hi-res Texture Streaming functionality. Texture streaming allows our designers the freedom to make much larger environments, like the scene below, while also increasing the amount of detail on the characters, and environments in the vicinity of the player.

Take this screenshot that we released at GamesCom this week for example.

I saw that too, the thing about it was they had a beta for MW1 and it still came out with bugs, a closed beta has the potential to be even worse ( as this game is so much more than part 1 ) but you never know maybe this time they will get it right. I saw that they were releasing a video next week I put it in my post on the last page, most people are specualting its about dual attachments, since they stated it was about perk's. It will be interesting to see what the video shows.
