only thing that didn't go smooth was the backstage hahaha
I'm guessing this is the promoter for the show in October? Good job. I you know how far we had to drive? The night ended before any one even played I drove out to support. I left at midnight to drive back pretty annoyed at paying for parking and a ticket for nothing. I'll be at Bloody Valentines because it's closer.

Well yeah that for sure wasn't smooth at all, but the parts I was referring to is the fact that dude was wanting to see First Degree The DE perform. He didn't. But since you mention it was the first time people unknown by the acts were ever allowed to walk in and out of our dressing room without security (and the club wonders why shit got fucked up in there) when all of our clothes, gear, and ect were out in the open and the fact that there was no sound check with everyone flying in and driving in from out of town to do sound check at 5:00pm like you said when you actually showed up 3 or 4 hours later, when there was a sound check for the band it was in front of a huge crowd (unheard of in the industry and REALLY unprofessinal), the mics weren't on for one of the main acts that DID get to play so the sound check was pointless anyways and everyone left because it ran late because there was two shows being thrown in one night with ONE stage including a rock show (again, unheard of in the industry) and me and First Degree and Savzilla's set were cut so all of our fans / friends / family that came to see us didn't get the show they were hoping for. One of his band members left the group the next day partly because of the booking. Then having two of my friends and my brother getting arrested and ME being blamed for the broken shit backstage and you asking me who did it to tell the venue, so they can tell the police. But getting paid and being banned from a venue for somebody else's actions was the shit though. I was happy to get paid if I played or not because of the amount of promo my team put in. I understand shit happens or sometimes things don't go as planned but that night you were far from a Smoooooth operator.....

Honestly. that had to be the worst ran show ive been to, i wasted hella $ in gas in my cadillac to drive from SF to modesto for it, i went to see the artists perform and there was some old ass rock band performing like damn near the whole night, although jesus was rocking the fuck out, i left without even seeing anyone perform cuz those fuckers were on for so damn late. it was terribly ran.

The fat cat club throws two events in one night all the time. every friday night they have rock / comedy until 9pm and then whoever is promoting that night takes over. its the way we work & it usually works fine. The show did get off to a slow start because of the rock shows 'breakdown'. It also Sounds like you had a lot of people show up early which makes no sense when the flyer clearly says DOORS @ 9PM but its understandable considering you had people come from out of town. Everyone but first degree got to perform that night which we were all disappointed about (because the d.e. is a dope headliner) The show did end at 1:30am so it wasnt cut short. The security is always strict at fat cat because it is an upscale club in the heart of downtown & if someone gets arrested its almost always for a reason. You guys did get paid & did perform for a nice size crowd on top of being able to construct most of the lineup yourself (including adding over 4 acts) which helped make the show run late. All in all we had a really good response from the show & people loved the concert as a whole. Afterwords We had no complaints about sound and when kung fu was performing the whole crowd was dancing / moshing like there wasn't an issue. Even the first thread that was posted here on sicness about this show had a lot of good comments about the performances & turnout. You can try & make it out to be the biggest plunder of all shows but you obviously had FUN in the greenroom & had nothing bad to say the day after. As promoters you cant control the artists actions and thats why we werent held liable for your actions. You live out here in modesto so we wanted to extend the invite and help you get a little shine in a market where no one would ever book you otherwise. Good luck with your career & we do wish you and kung fu the best. We wouldn't have booked ya'll if we didn't like the music. Kung fu has a hell of a sound & image & we always try to support the local bands! And as promoters We just brought Talib Kweli jan.9th.. we are bringing E-40 jan.22nd & HIEROGLYPHICS jan.30th to fat cat so hopefully the fat cat doesn't lose your biz!
