Cesolito..sometimes youre too nice of a critic my friend....

Good marketing/smart business moves does NOT ="tight and original"....

No its called my honest opinion. I'm different than some cats on this site I keep shit real I never jump on a bandwagon or dickride.

My honest opinion is this album is real tight. Thats all niggas here bumping in they whips. I only heard one person bumping some Cham here and that was a geeky little white girl in a geo metro. Not dissing Cham I'll wait until his album drops and I will judge him. But for right now Mike Jones tops him. Real niggas like myself recognize real shit and that Mike Jones album is some real shit.

Im not knockin your opinion..im just statin a fact...just cus a cat knows how to hustle and market...dont mean the man can rap...thats all im sayin...Mike Jones...is a marketing genius...theres a thread about him every week in the forum...the man knows how to sell records...its just the way you stated seemed like you were sayin that becuase the man hustles and makes smart business moves...means he a good MC...which the 2 have nothin in common....he may be able to sell a freezer to an Eskimo....but it dont mean that freezer gonna work...

BUt you generally like the same shit i do...and i respect your opinion..if you think its a tight album..then more power to ya...but ill pass...

yall must not like luni coleone is you dont like mike jones. and if I remember jae, u said u didnt like luni, so it makes since you wont like mike jones since they both say their name a lot. granted mike probably does it more, but it doesnt bother me. i actually kinda like it, its his thing. the beats are knock on this album, and mike does a good job of ridin on them. my fav cuts are scandalous hoes, flossin, back then, still tippin, turning lane, screw dat, what ya know bout that, know what im sayin......good album, solid 8 outta 10. maybe even 8.5

yeah but luni doesnt rehash/reorder the same EXACT set of lyrics/concepts over and over again the way mike does. to call him one-dimensional would be a huge understatement. i gotta give it to him tho, to do that for an entire album the way he did must have been pretty tough!

there are some decent lines on it but like JL said there is alot of recycled shit on it... just seems that he cant carry a whole verse without having to do the whole heres my phone number hit me on the low rhyme. I do agree that he is a great marketer..... thats all you see on mtv commercials... and i guarantee this will go platinum... but so did vanilla ice and mc hammer :dead:

That sums it up right there we all thought he was tight back then,

"I said Back Then evrybody want'em, now he's hot and nobody on 'em"

I think how a rapper promotes himself is apart of his appeal, its not enough to have just lyrics or just flows, you have to have a hustle as well

Its why Jay-Z is a complete mc, he has lyrics, flows and a million dollar hustle, thats what being a rapper is nowadays

Some have more of one thing than another, some have tight ass spits but no concept of how to promote themselves to their potential audience,

see mike jones has the hustle part but lacks in the lyrical arena but that doesnt make him any less of an entertainer or an mc in 2005, its how the game has changed

In the true sense of emcee'n..it does...like i said..just cus you know how to sell records..does NOT mean you got skills on the mic..

Yes..its true..you slap in a nice beat...a nice chorus...and you CAN sell records to the masses...good lyrical content is NOT required to go platinum...cus in the club...women wanna dance...and fellas wanna dance when the girls dance...whats funny is even WOMEN admit they dont listen to the words...evident is when a record is playin..and somewhere in the lyrics the rapper says "all you hoes, get on the dance flo!!!"...and then women get up and scream "this is my JAM,girl!!!Lets dance!!!!"...and they dont even realize they GOT DISRESPECTED...its fuckin pathetic....

So do yo have to be a dope MC to sell records?Of course not...thus Mike Jones makin waves in the industry....

i feel what you are saying, my point was the 'true sense of of emcee'n' has changed, skills on the mic are only one element of an mc

Was 2pac an incredible rapper in an old school sense with considered lyrics, metaphor and diction?

I'm not sure he was - but he was still tight and had an unbelievable ability to move masses of people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, that for me makes him an excellent mc regardless of his sometimes throw away lyrics.

Now dont get it twisted in no way am i comparing mike jones to 2pac lol, just using an example to express a point

EXACTLY. BUT HIS ALBUM TO ME IS TIGHT. HE'S BY FAR NOT THE BEST RAPPER, BUT I LIKE HIM, AND SO DOES EVERYBODY THAT I RAN INTO IN SEATTLE, WHICH IS A LOT. BUT YOU'RE RIGHT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A DOPE EMCEE TO SELL RECORDS, IF YOU DID, MOST OF THE RAPPERS WHO ARE MOVIN UNITS RIGHT NOW W/O GOOD LYRICS COULD NOT SELL RECORDS. I HEARD HIM SPIT SOME DOPE BARS BEFORE, NOT THE "CAUSE IM WHO?" SHIT OR THE NORMAL SHIT HE RAPS. HE HAS IT IN HIM TO SPIT SOME NICE BARS, BUT HE'S RAPPIN LIKE THIS BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE IT GOT HIM.
