Cotto won't be fighting Martinez or Williams anytime soon. Arum I'm pretty sure all but guaranteed the winner of tonights fight to fight the winner of the JCC Jr./Duddy fight .. as silly as that sounds.

I doubt that will happen cuz Cottos fighting at 154 now and i had my doubts but i do think this division is good for him cuz the fighters dont have as good of movement and handspeed Cottos power is effective enough i guess.
Mayweather goes where the money is, no weight or belt holds him down. hes talking about fighting Martinez, what makes you think he wont step in the ring with Cotto who is a champ and way bigger star at the 154 division now. this fight should of happened a few years ago. if the Pac-Man camp don't bow down in kiss the ring, this fight is next up trust that. Bob Arum will be a factor but it will go down

^^why would bob arum work with mayweather if the pacquiao fight doesn't happen? No way in hell cotto fights floyd before pacquiao. You'd have a much higher chance of a cotto vs pacquiao rematch for cotto's belt at 154 making it pac's 8th weight class title.

Floyd vs cotto will never happen.

Much respect to Foreman for pushing through. A lot of fighters would have used that as an out.

Cotto's balance and footwork seemed to have improved, even against Yuri, who until the injury never really stopped moving. I think Cotto is better suited at '54, but I agree...I don't see him fighting the top dogs, at this moment.

Someone clear this up for me though:

Foreman's trainer, actually was the one who threw in the towel. So technically, wasn't the fight supposed to be stopped then? Glad it went on anyways, that was a throwback Cotto liver shot.

The corner can't stop the fight, even by throwing in the towel. Only the ref can stop the fight. Basically the corner was saying they wanted it to be stopped, but the ref doesn't have to do so. He wasn't even sure where the towel came from at the time. Yuri said he wanted to continue so he let it go on.

Watch Giovanni Segura Vs. Juanito Rubillar if you want to know why the towel rule should be in place. The reason not many people know about it is because 99% of the time the referee does stop the fight when he sees the corner throw in the towel .. all the corner really has to do is jump in the ring though and get the DQ if they really want the fight stopped.

.. in Segura/Rubillar someone threw the towel in that wasn't in Rubillar's corner and the fight was stopped in Segura's favor (even though he was winning clean).
