Really I'm not impressed with margarito, though I'm definately interested in seeing this fight. Like I said in the other forum, margarito's defense and chin will keep get him into the championship rounds probably. But when he comes out trying to pressure Cotto I think he's going to get countered a lot because the hand speed is absent and he's too wide and looping with his powershots, he's been that way his whole career, not going to change. Cotto can easily outbox him, and when he turns offensive, it will nullify margarito's offense just like Williams did. Cotto's left hook will find it's home, Margarito's in for another L, but more likely retirement.

Ya, Margarito won according the the judges. He lost that fight, it wasn't even close. He won 4 rounds at most, and Clottey fought more than half the fight with a broken hand.

I'm a huge Margarito fan, always have been. Have cashed on him plenty of times. But to me, the crowd, and the majority of boxing fans he lost that one.

I think Margarito beats Cotto.

What a good ass fight this is going to be, Margarito will be Cotto's toughest fight yet. We'll really get to see what Cotto's made of in this fight, and Margarito has a good chance to win this fight. It should be a good ass fight. I'm rootin for Margarito just cuz he's Mexican and I could never go for a Puerto Rican over a Mexican no matter what. But Cotto is a fuckin savage so I dunno, Margarito will have to come with it if he wants to do anything to Cotto. I can't wait.

Thanks, I never saw that fight.

Anyways, I got Cotto by UD. Margarito I think has the best shot out of anyone to beat Cotto, he's got a great chin and of course his work rate is insane. I just think Cotto can out box him and land shots at will head and body against margarito. I think it's going to be close, possible fight of the year, but I just thik Cotto is going to pull it off some way.

Just google "Clottey robbed by Margarito" or "Clottey beat Margarito" and you will see a ton of stuff, but it doesn't matter. That fight was about 2 years ago.

Ya, Cotto can pull out the win. Boxing has been so screwed up lately, I just want it to be a fair decision (if it comes down to that). They will rob Margarito just to set up a showdown with Cotto vs Whoever. Margarito has to win 8 of 12 just to get a split 115-113 win. On the other hand, Cotto can win 6 of 12 and get a 116-112 victory. That's just how it is...

Cotto looked good against Gomez... I might not pick against Cotto anymore until he fights Mayweather. Margarito looked good too... he takes punches and he keeps on coming.

Why don't people ever mention Margarito injuring himself in this fight and actually being out longer after the fight than Clottey was?

Yea because Mosley put up absolutely no fight against Cotto just ONE fight ago. People must get extremely excited over one complete blowout that was meant to be a complete blowout.

Yeah, I thought that the fight might be a little more competitive, but a lot of people are putting too much on Cotto's beating of Gomez.

I mean, did Gomez sending Gatti into retirement really impress people that much ? I've never considered Gatti an elite level fighter. Just maybe an entertaining one.

I think that Tony has actually got a good chance, if you watched that Cotto-Torres fight...Cotto sometimes tends to stand in front of his opponent and trade shots when his opponent is doing the same.

Doing that with Tony might get you knocked the fuck out or vise versa with Cotto. Thats whats so dope about this fight.

Should be a great fight, but no way would I write off Tony. I can't wait for this shit...and hopefully it doesn't fall into the laps of the crooked ass judges.

To Cotto's credit I think he's improved a whole lot since then and has established a pretty good jab for himself and is a much better boxer then a couple years ago.

Also, anyone notice a personality emerging?? lol, he has ring confidence, a type of swagger present that was never there before and the way he talks during his interviews is a lot different. Just a small observation about Cotto, but imo a pretty key factor in boxing to be an elite fighter.
