besides the angels and devils.
Thats is true, but, those teams did TRY and purchase what they could to win a title, sometimes its a money factor that deprives them of quality players, sometimes it's the players refusing to play for the team. It's not that those teams didn't "TRY" to do it, they just flat out didn't, or couldn't. Ill give it to you for coming up with those teams, I don't know a great deal about hockey so I can't speak on the Devils, but the Angels did it with close to nobody.

Well first off Malone & Payton arent gonna be playin for that long to be sayin "let the titles roll in"!! 2ndly I aint trippin, because this proves further more about what I been sayin about Ko-Me!! He cant carry a team, now he needs Payton & Malone!! Damn wont Ko-Me be in the shadows!! Hahaha!!! he needs outside help from other allstars to win anotha title!! But its all good!! Well see what happens!! I still think that if Kidd goes to San Antonio, that they will win again!! GOT EM!!!
Regardless how long they play, the Lakers will always be title bound, so if and when they do leave, there will be other players waiting to jump ship. Kobe doesn't NEED Payton and Malone, he just needs SOMEONE other then his center to step it up a notch, in this case it just so happens to be 2 superstars that get to do the job. Kobe will hardley be in the shadows my friend, he will still make the All-Star team and he will still lead the team in scoring amongst other catagories. I don't see him averaging more then 25 a game though.

Haha calling the Championship already? You guys do realise both Malone and Payton are way past their prime. I'm calling the Lakers don't do shit. This is just like when the Rockets had Pippen and Barkley.
Did the Rockets also have the most dominant center in history, and the best 2 in the game, no. Just think about this, they will have 4 All-Star starters on their squad, its a little different. I got money that says otherwise. If you got PayPal, let me know, we can do this.

Instead of getting Payton, you get JASON TERRY for 1.5 - 2 million.....Sure you'll say an all star point gaurd (Payton) aint in the free agent market every year. And I agree. But on the other hand, you have a young talanted point on the rise. He might turn out to be a franchise player for the lakers.
Good call on Jason Terry. Personally, if we could sign him to a multi-year contract, I think I would rather have him then Payton. You have to remember though, Jason Terry had a solid year last season, so he can and will get more then the Lakers will offer him. Why? Because Jason Terry is not title hungry right now, he is money hungry, just like most players are in there first 5+ years of playing in the NBA. Malone and Payton just want a ring, they have played their entire careers in and out of the playoffs stacking chips, so it changes as time progresses. Im sure we could afford Terry this year, but he will want more and more in the process of evolving into a franchise guard for the Lakers.
