Don't believe everything you read. There are plenty of people out there who are pissed at UOP because they can't find jobs. There are also plenty of people who graduated from UOP who make a shitload of money...I personally know 5. Every person I know who has attended UOP has a good job and makes good money. I can't say the same for every person I know who has graduated from "regular" 4 year colleges.

The people who are disgruntled also seem to think it's just this big online scam. I don't know about this person, but I go to school on campus and do more than write papers. We read, have finals, and do presentations like everybody else. Fact of the matter is, those who graduate college and don't get a job probably expect somebody to hand shit to them on a silver platter. This person graduated in 2008 and could not get a job for a year. I wonder WHY! I wonder if this person is aware of the recession we've been in since 2008.

And I've been with the same group of people for almost two years. 3 of us are above a 3.8, and the rest have average or below average grades.

"The standards set by the instructors at UOPX are ridiculously low. Individual papers are 700-1000 words with no APA formatting or citations required." - That's a bullshit statement right there. Some papers are 700-1000 words, some are 1000-1400, but they all REQUIRE APA formatting and a citations page. In fact, most of my classes have required 2-5 citations MINIMUM!

Most my papers are 15-20 pages, if I only had 2-5 citations I'd be docked hella marks. A 20 page paper is approximately 7000 words long. My intro courses wanted at around 2000 word essays.

We've had a couple classes where 8000 word papers were due. In fact, my last assignment for my current class is an 8400 word paper. I'm sure we'd be doing 20 page papers regularly if classes weren't 5 weeks long. It's bad enough we cram a semester worth of shit into a little over a month.

Side Note: I just read that whole page of complaints. Almost everybody complaining had terrible grammar and punctuation. Then there were a couple, I'm sure, who are trying to get paid from the class action lawsuit. I find it interesting that all those complaints came during the recession.

What are the requirements to get your bachelors from UOP? How many credits, how long does it take you etc? How many hours do you spend in the classroom for a 5 week course?

Need 120 credits for the Bachelor's degree. It's a 2 year program...I started in May 2009 and will graduate in 4 months. Spend 4 hours per week in the classroom and about 10-15 additional hours on homework.

UoP was not my first college choice. I wanted to go to San Jose State, but California budget cuts meant I had to wait an extra year just to APPLY! I'm impatient, so I went to Phoenix. I'm kinda glad it went this way though because if I had taken 3 classes per semester at the state college, I would have been looking at another 3-4 years just to get the degree. All the work in 5 weeks is stressful as shit, but it works for me 'cause I have a baby and I'm trying to get it done without losing 2 nights a week with my son.

rigth now Im fine with the way weed is. the fine is $100. chances of getting caught, next to nothing. if i do get caught, oh well, it is a $100, it makes up for all the times I have never been caught. its a infraction, big deal, like a traffic ticket.

but we are close to leagalizing it within the next couple of years, they just need to polish the propositions, so all sides are happy with the outcome.

lol at butcher with his outa the woodwork critique. I luled

A- = a solid B at UC or UT. The competition is different at those schools

I'm biased cause I talk shit about all business and Liberal art degree's, even to my brothers... I fucking hate writing, and grades that are opinionated. I'd rather have a right / wrong answer - or something qualitative.

I wont even hate on UOP cause education is education... and with a business degree, the student after graduation needs to have the hustle to get a job. Its not like a electrical engineering degree where your getting job offers in your senior year. On a serious note, what % of professors have PhD's at UOP?
