After playing for a couple hours last night, I'm still having a hard time getting used to the controls because they are drastically different than 07 on the PS2.

Some of the changes are really annoying me - the offensive audibles were tight on the PS2 07 version - in addition to pressing the triangle key plus another key for a play, you could press the d-pad left, right, up, down for additional plays from the play book. That's gone. So the o-audibles are very limited.

I really fucking hate picking plays. It's retarded. Why did they change it to be so complicated? I think they tried to make it easier by picking by playtype, formware, etc. but it actually makes it harder to remember where certain plays are. pisses me off.

I haven't noticed any of the slowness LEE-ZILLA is talking about though, and I have the ps3 version.

The gameplay and graphics are good, everything else annoys me.

so I just intercepted a pass with Charles Tillman and returned it for a touchdown, only for it to be called pass interference on Tillman. I checked the reply and Tillman was never within 3 yards of the receiver, never touched him once, and when the interception happened was about 4-5 yards away from the receiver. hahaha

I think this new version is pretty sick. The field goals are easier and there are more fumbles like you all said. I like the way the play picking is now. I like that you can pick a play designed for a certain player. Just sucks there's no Madden commentating.

nah, but i thought it was the tv in my room. then i took in to the hd tv in the living room and that shit goes hella slow and looks kinda shitty to me. I guess thats because i played the xbox360 version first, then on ps3 when i got home. All in all the xbox360 shits on ps3 version. You can really tell the difference in the extra 30 fps.

Developers aren't trying to fuck over the PS3. They have no reason to do that.. It's just that blu-ray reads really slow. It has slow read-times, and that effects framerate, plus, it's hard to develop for, and has a smaller GPU and less RAM than the 360.

Next years versions will probably be pretty close to identical, which will mean not much additions to the games since they'll be fixing the PS3 version.

ha! i beat this scrub who was the colts online with the raiders.lol.. im havin fun with this.. i still remember all the plays that worked last yr 4 me.. just gotta get used 2 throwin 2 jerry porter instead of randy moss..

pre-snap press L2 and your receiver and he'll be locked on him, if you want to throw elsewhere just flick the toggle in that direction. You do have to be able to recognize defenses and route progression to do it.

If you played APF this year, Madden is fast as hell when you start playing. Passing and running is light years better. Defense is nice and I'm still learning the defensive play maker assignment single player buttons, but that is a much needed feature that was missing. The weapons icons look pretty cool and don't distract you as much as I thought it would.

I played my buddy online in a 4 min, all pro non-ranked game. (Raiders (me) vs. Dallas). I learned the game very quick and won 14-0. The game play is very nice and they also challenged a fumble in the last 2 minutes of the game. We tried to challenge a play early in the game, but the option was grayed out, not sure what that was about. All in all I like the game so far. I can't judge it off, 1 quarter played solo an a 4 min game online, but online was pretty smooth for it being the 1st game.

The gang tackling is kinda suspect, I think they did some good things with it, but it's light years away from APF's gang tackling. Presentation is nice, but it's still lacking somethings, no players at coin toss, no field goal net (wtf), no refs on the field, but these are the only flaws I saw so far, everything else looked really good.

I think if you love Madden, you will be satisfied with this years version on the 360. Everyone in line was getting it for 360, a few for PS3 and not too many for PS2 or Xbox, not sure about the Wii. While I personally enjoy APF's gameplay more, Madden is much better than it has been the last few years. Now all they need to do is get rid of the fucking radio announcer.

APF: 8.5
Madden: 8.5 for now, might change after I try the other modes out.

I like the fact that theres no refs on the field, in 07 a ref would occasionally block one of my pass defenders and leave the reciever wide open with my defender 10 yards behind em. I agree wit errthang else you said tho, game is on point.

Finally got it for 360 today.

Kinda disappointed that the graphics in Madden aren't as realistic as they were in NCAA 08, and sometimes they look cartooney, but the gameplay seems faster.

But yea, its cool so far. I'll post again once i get more games under my belt.
