I got it for the PS3 yesterday, only played a couple games.
First off, the radio announcers suck, but I knew this was going to be the case b4 I got it. I just don't understand wtf EA is thinking in regards to that.
Overall though the game seems really good. Lots of new features, it's going to take a while to learn some of the new shit especially on defense, I can already tell. The main thing is the game runs a lot smoother than the 07 versions. They really added on ton of shit it seems, so the game is very in depth. I started franchise mode and noticed the training is a lot different. You can select several people before a game and work on different things. They training was pretty cool - a lot better than 07, although I couldn't figure out to bench press. Tackling is much improved and a lot more realistic, same with catching/running the ball.
There are a few lil annoying things though - the radio announcers for one. I really don't like the Next Generation of menu's - seems hard to navigate and slightly confusing at times but I'm sure I'll get used to it (07 on the PS2 was perfectly fine). I'm sure there was something else but I cant think what
The graphics seem really good. I heard if you compare it side by side to the 360 version you will be able to notice a difference, 360 being better, but looks good to me. The game runs smoothly - haven't noticed any glitches or delays after the play ends or anything like that so that's a good sign.
One thing that was dope is that I completed a pass to a receiver that was running an out to the sideline, I caught it and hit the wrong button, my guy turned and pitched the ball to my running back that happened to be nearby and I ran and gained an additional 10-15 yards. The pitch didn't seemed forced or weird in anyway and it turned out looking like a perfectly designed play. I can tell with certain plays you can really use this to your advantage.
I'd agree with gamespots rating of 8.5 (but I need some more time to really tell).
