i dont think the Raiders would do well, even if they had Walter Jones, Larry Allen, Jeff Saturday, Alan Faneca, & Orlando Pace.

(all in their prime)
lol with that RB group you would have to be retarded to think the Raiders wouldn't be better with that line

statistically it made sense to go after crabtree and or maclin. i thought it was a no brainer also. but it is a matter of choice ultimately. bey can fly, is 6'3, and has a 39 inch vertical. if this translates to production in the nfl, he could be the best in this draft. personally i wasnt sold on crabtree. he lied about his height initially and is an obvious pre-madonna. as far as my team is concerned, we need guys willing to work, not guys expected to be treated like an all-pro before playing a snap in the nfl. being a great college athlete doesnt necessarily mean a productive nfl career. your work didnt end, it just began. my hope is that bey is hungry, not just for a paycheck, but production and longevity in the nfl.

seahawks and niners are both in the same boat as us. actually you both underachieved, where as according to you guys, it was expected of the raiders. i just dont understand your guys thought process sometimes.
With a coach like Singletary the primaddona shit is not an issue. He'll learn his place very quick.

I will admit the Niners underachieved in my book, we looked like we should have been over .500 to me at the beginning of the season. The Seahawks had no depth so they fell apart when they got hit with all those injuries. The Raiders were actually better then I thought they should have been after the coaching change and Walker being useless. But I expected better out of them when they signed Walker. I thought having him would open it up for McFadden, Fargas and Bush. With Bey it should do that as long as he is consistent. Which shouldn't be to much of an issue. I don't think it was to bad of a pick, but I think you could have traded down, got him and a lineman.

@ trajik
your opinions arent biased like some of the other niner fans. i can respect your view. i know singletary wont put up with primadonna behavior. could cable have dealt with it when ole al is a players owner? i doubt it.

i dont think the raiders are that far off from competing week to week. we have some talented kids and brought back key veterans as well as some good free agent pick ups. if we can start where we finished last year, it could be an interesting year. cable is a raider at heart, has balls regarding play calling, and has the respect of the players. it was obvious the last 2 games. it showed our team has character which i doubted myself at times throughout the last 5 years. i'm optimistic every year, but this year could be the year we get back to winning football. it all is gonna depend if JR steps up to the plate imo.

well one thing i think the Raiders have going for them, is that they very well could be #2 in the AFC West. Chargers>Raiders>Queefs>Broncos

yup. if the queefs hadn't made the moves they made this off season, i'd more then likely say that they'd be 4th in afc west. but they made some good moves. so there fore they're going to be either # 2 or 3. but the Broncos fucked up by letting go, what i think is a franchise QB. there is just so much to discuss about the Broncos that this would have to be a Broncos thread to say it. but back on topic. i think the Raiders will do no better then #2 in the AFC West. i think the Chargers still got AFC West on lock down. especially with Shawn coming back off injury. he's a beast.

Cassel ain't got nobody to throw too. Tomlinson's play is declinging, Sproles isn't a every down back, and that Colts game basically got him his new deal. I think the Raiders either take the West or take 2nd this year. The Broncos and Chiefs are still in the rebuilding stages.

Cassell also has Engram to throw to. he may not be the receiver he use to be. but he's got the knowlege and route run down. he can catch good in traffic too. but the loss of Tony isn't good for the queefs. but also, the queefs have vrabel(sp?). that should be a good addtion to the D.
