well im sure thats what they said to make it seem like a great deal, and i cant argue with you cause i cant go back in time and monitor the price of that particular tv leading up to black friday and then afterwards. but its much more likely that the price was set something like that around that time.

normally black friday has amazing deals you could only get one time a year but this year it was well known that retailers put their stuff on sale relatively early and extended them past black friday, well throughout christmas time and a little afterwards as well

You ain't listening breh, you're wrong! I'm not arguing that retailers put stuff on sale early but I know for a fact for my specefic TV it was just on sale (that day) because everytime i went into walmart i was looking at that tv and the price was always the same until black friday. Even after black friday the price jumped back up and i know this cuz i'm in the mutha every week buyin grocerys! Dam, it's like i'm talkin to myself or somethin.. smh I understand your point now understand the FACTS i am telling you! lol

Not only that but last black friday the only things i bought was Battlefield 3 and a copy of Gears of War 3 for my brother at best buy. That shit was $30 a pop! Guess what the price was the next day? $60 as normal! There are sales that you will only get "Black Friday" even if they have other sales that last before and after black friday..

alright, i was wrong about your tv and i apologize for the mistake; you were the one that bought the tv, and you say you were paying attention to the prices around that time, and you got a great deal on it, nice. i am wrong, you are right.

i could go on and on and ask you what model the TV is and find out if its a standard model or a completely different item manufactured exclusively for that specific retailer wiht the name brand in tact but different components, then talk about loss leader door buster items vs top of the line items and advertising the full MSRP vs the 'sale' price, and all this nonsense and bullshit to try and prove you wrong but i dont even really care that much lol and it solves nothing. i dont even know what id be trying to prove, thats like 7 different topics

anyway yea youre right, there are some items that go on super super sale on black friday, and you wont see those cheap of prices except maybe one other time that year

fyi walmart is not a place to buy a tv ever. EVER
lol, why not? i know some of their tv's are "off-models". like for instance lets make up some random name for a tv, like lets say the top of the line tv is SICCNESS TV X5500. walmart or bestbuy will have exclusive rights to have that tv manufactured for them and theyll have it done with recycled parts and cheaper parts, and call it like SICCNESS TV XX5500. so itll seem like its exactly the same but in reality its got cheaper parts inside, little bit lower picture quality, 1 less HDMI slot, just small stuff you wouldnt notice until you already bought the tv

i imagine they just kinda toss tv's around and dont give a shit. then i imagine if your tv has a problem they give you the runaround and huge headaches.

my friend who is working at fed ex says they just toss tvs around too and treat them like shit. like 60 inch plasmas and LCD/LED Tvs they just kinda slide them around or toss them hella hard and handle them like theyre nothing.

its no wonder people buy a brand new $2000 tv and then theres something wrong wtih the picture

I've bought 2 tvs from them and never had a problem with either. It's the exact same TV you would get at Best Buy or anywhere else but cheaper! Every distribution center for every major retailer also treats there product exactly the same and i know this because i've worked in logistics (Warehouses) for the past 8 years! They are all unloaded from semi's by forklift processed and put back on the truck to ship to a store. Just because the store's name is "walmart" has nothing to do with the quality of the product!

They all buy from the same manufactures. The electronic device you buy from walmart is EXACTLY the same product you get from best buy but with a different price tag, trust me! Not to mention if you got a problem with it you can return it no questions asked. My dad copped a tv there dropped it on the ground, smashed the screen and got a brand new TV next day for $0. I would love to see best buy honor that! People want to hate on walmart but the fact is they undercut the competetion on the exact same electronics. Thats why they are so successful.

Yup not only are they tossed around, they will also stack 1-200lbs of shit on top of them while laying flat on the ground and not give a fuck. First tv I bought from Walmart had a cracked screen. As butcher stated Walmart tvs are usually the lower series tv.

I saw a Panasonic tv , 898 for a 50". Went home did some research and found out there were four different modles s, st, gt,vt . Walmart happened to be the lower of all 4. Sure it's a great price but lacks the quality

Do your research and look up the model number. I don't blindly spend thousands of dollars on a tv just because it had a big "sale" sign on it. Every tv i have bought i have compared the prices at mutiple retailers. I can see why you wouldn't like walmart if you had a bad experience but best buy does the same shit and people have bought broken tvs there too. TV's are fuckin heavy, you don't think Best Buy throws them around too? You're lyin to yourself!

Sorry but when i look at a tv from walmart that has the exact same model number as the one at best buy and cost $200 less it's a no brainer where i'm gonna buy it from.

Back on topic though i would recommend before anybody buys a tv to go on walmart.com and or bestbuy.com and read the customer reviews. The majority are either positve or negative and it gives you a pretty good feel of what is a good buy.

Sorry to burst your bubble but when I used to work at Best Buy long time ago people tossed around TV's and laptops like it was nothing then would laugh when something hit the concrete floor. Happens everywhere.

are you sure about that? i remember i was going to buy a vizio tv, and looked up the models and compared them with the "exact same" model being sold on amazon. turns out while walmart listened the exact same model number, it was not the same tv. there were different components in it, it had one less HDMI slot, the specifications were all different, and it was because they used cheaper recycled parts. maybe if im bored later ill find specific examples

meh i cant find the exact same tv i was looking for, where it was blatantly the EXACT SAME MODEL NUMBER, but different specs.

but like WT said, its usually pretty obvious, like there will be four models of the same type of tv, and walmart will have the lowest tier model. but basically, if youre about to buy a TV from walmart, and you try to research it but nobody else out there sells it, walmart only, then yea, somethings up. they definitely subcontracted the name brand manufacturers to make cheaper versions with less quality material in that instance

i cant hate on them all the way though, if youre looking for a value tv, key word value, and its the exact same model with the same specs and part and all that, it makes sense to buy it cheaper from walmart / kmart / target. generally though when speaking on high end LED/LCD's and high end plasmas, walmart is not the way to go

its the same with buying anything expensive and top of the line and name branded.

for instance that Green Irish Tweed by House of Creed cologne you bought off ebay for 100 bucks for 4oz, lol thats not the same shit youre going to get at Nieman Marcus for $285 + tax.

that naem brand riding lawn mower you can buy from home depot for cheap, might have a different engine than the one you get direct from the manufacturer. there are tons of other examples but i dont know where im going with this, lol, fuck

I'm sure that walmart does have some lower tier models. However they also have some of the EXACT same models as best buy. I got a 32 in samsung for my bedroom from best buy that they actually had on display at walmart. I would had bought it at walmart but they were out of stock so i went to best buy and got the exact same model for like $100 more because i didn't want to wait.

were talking about tvs, no one said anything about a xbox. i know its hard to stick to the topic.

i bought a 32" sony brivia for the niners game before the nfc champ game and the quality was shit but who gives a fuck it was for a day, picture quality was shit and it was shit for gaming. it just so happened i didnt wanna watch the game on a 19" sharp tv. so should i have kept the shitty tv for $300 bc the price was right?

That has ZERO to do with Walmart, and 100% to do with Sony. That was the point he was making. You could have bought that TV straight from Sony, and the problem would still have existed. Suggesting that Walmart somehow manufactures other companies TV's and puts different parts in it is absolutely asinine in and of itself. The lawsuit that would come down from these corporations would be so intense, Walmart would have folded YEARS ago,
