i'm fuckin wit the lcd's and led's. my lcd is like 5 years old and still looks pretty good. and i got a led that looks great with games.

what you got to pay attention to is the hz ie. 120hz or 240hz that's the speed ratio for moving pictures on screen. i got a 32 inch led by samsung and it's i think only 60hz since it's so small.

my bro got a 60 inch samsung led/lcd <--i don't know exactly how that works but it's a 240hz so it's double the processing speed so go figure.

i'll prolly come back and drop a picture. matter fact i'll do it right now and let you see what it looks like for mine and his.

his.

if you talk to store reps they will tell you samsung and lg are the biggest rivals. so go with what you feel if you were to compare between the two.

my lcd is a sony and not many people care for them too much nowadays.

other than that whatever fits your budget. for what your looking for do some research on cnet.com and amazon try to find the best reviews with the "most" reviewers.

2 cents.

major thing to factor in is if there's a window of some sorts that will cause refelction? if so then do not get the plasma and stick with the LED. plasmas look the best IMO but if it's in a room where there will be a glare then it's not worth it. i got me an LED tv for that exact reason and it looks great for gaming, sports & blu's.

Last year I bought a LCD and ended up returning it for a plasma. Best decision I ever made. Didn't even know about input lag as I never had that issue before. It was intolerable to game on. Returned it soon after and got a Panasonic Viera plasma and even got refunded like $180 for the price difference. No lag, awesome picture and the price was super nice.

I had a 52in Samsung LCD that i was happy as fuck with until my lady put the tv remote through the screen. Next day i went and copped a 55in Samsung LED smart tv. Lets just say i started to reconsider murderin my bitch.

It looks super clean wheather i'm playin video games or watchin TV. It also has the auto motion plus that eleminates blur but i got to turn that shit off to watch movies because it almost looks too good... It's like you're watching a play or somethin? I made a thread a while back about it...

Anyways i would go LED and the screen is way thinner too. Only downside is i seem to get more of a glare off the LED but that might just be specific to the TV?

LED = LCD

Plasma uses gas...dont tip them on their side, or they are ruined. They also give off much more heat and are STILL susceptible to burn in.
if laying them on their side were true do you think a store would put them on the sales floor like that for everyone too see? bc costco and other stores do. also from what ive seen in cnet reviews, they said it would take over 24hrs on the same screen to have a burn in, i dont know if thats true, im just throwing that out there.

FYI the "soap opera" effect is a motion effect on HDTVs. Every manufacturer has a different name for it, for example Samsung calls it "Motion Plus". Basically it adds frames to the picture and makes the playback "smoother". The higher the hz, the better the effect will be. This is great for fast moving sports i.e. basketball but bad for pretty much everything else, especially tv shows that are shot at low frame rates. Google "turn off soap opera effect samsung" (or whatever manufacturer you have) and turn that shit off unless you're watching sports.

well @ KG The One this year was a little different. most retail places put their items on sale like a month or two before thanksgiving, and extended the sales all the way through december and past new years.

the day after thanksgiving was just a massive clearance of their loss leader models essentially. im not saying that they didnt put top of the line stuff for really good deals, but more often than not it was junk, and the top of the line stuff was about the same, maybe a little lower, as it was the whole 3 month period.

at least thats what i saw from following ads through that period.
