I think shes dope, i am a fan, i have her mixtape on my phone. she has a very bright future ahead of her. this is exactly what u need to do if u wana make it in this business. Be UNIQUE, get shit on youtube just like she did and hopefully if its good enough, many people will see it and once u get the interest of the public, u have a great shot at getting people interested in u. But u have to have talent, and she has plenty to go around. I wish her the best. People are talking about her out here in NYC and up in Canada, so her name is poppin. Congratulations to Kreayshawn obtaining a deal and for putting together a hit song. Next much respect to Stretch for putting together an "intelligent" proposal and package that wasn't overlooked by Major Label A&R.
I don't understand why people flip out when someone from the Bay (or any independent artist for that matter) gets a deal. I have never worked an artist to a label that didn't get a deal on the table. Be it a Major Artist Deal, an Large Independent Deal or a Distribution Deal with an Advance. As long as your Proposal is correct you will land something.
Got a 1 Million Dollar deal with KOCH for Land of da Lost (it was the first rap deal KOCH ever offered and Flaggs wouldn't sign the Contract.)
Got a deal with Black Market Records for Da Mobb Family. They left that deal and I got them a deal with Albatross/R-N-D Distribution. (on a note I may be wrong but even after they messed up both deals I think Mars resecured them a deal with R.I.P/Black Market Records which they also messed up).
Got Lou-Nutt a Record, Press and Distribute deal with an ADVANCE from the former One-Stop A.D.I. (when have you ever heard of a One-Stop giving an ADVANCE?)
Did a Merger deal between a New York management company and a power house online distribution site for 1 Million Dollars (can't give either companies name per the contract I had with them in regards to middle manning the deal.)
I personally as an artist (L-Love) was offered a deal with Def Jam in 1995, Rap-A-Lot in 1997 and right now I have a Universal Contract sitting on my desk as I type this. I would never sign with a Major. I am working a Full Time Job for the first time in my life and would STILL never sign a Contract.
Getting a deal that is favorable to the artist and/or label is not difficult. Your package just has to be tight. I went to College for Public Relations with a Minor in Business Marketing. Any quality business major should be able to secure a Record Deal with favorable advance money.

yea i feel ya. but alot of people out here kno names of bay cats but really never herd there music i even know people who call ecstasy THIZZ all day but dont even kno who Mac Dre is... but the Bay is fo sho #1 spot to be a independent hip hop look it up i have read a few list that place the Bay #1. Bay cats constantly do shows in AZ, KC, nebraska, colorado, texas, and even NYC(Nickatina & Roach gigz) do u think local cats from VA, Miami, Boston ect. are doin shows that far outta state????..... and P.S. just last night in my town Kailua Kona, Hawaii there was a Zoin I and The Grynch concert
