That sleep paralysis shieet has folklore behind it in Korean history... I have that shit and my mom used to explain it to me as "Ka Wi Nulita" meaning kinda like "scissors pressing" or something of that sort.. Basically it goes like sum lady was murdered or sum shiet so she haunts us when we're JUST about to fall asleep or just about to wake up and she jumps on our chest to kill us. Shit is hella common for Koreans I dunno why.. but it's like sumtimes I'll wake up and I want to move but I cant get up. I'll want to cry out but I can't speak. And then I can't breathe and I see sum old ass lady draped in long white clothes on my chest and I close my eyes and wait. Anybody seen the Japanese version of the Ring??? Lady looks like that. A few minutes later I can move my fingers and it's over but it's a pretty uncomfortable experience, especially when I was younger.

i thought it was pretty wack.

that is all.

Obviously you dont understand "the bible, the occult, symbolism and THE WAR." LMAO

It looks wack to me too thats why I'm not even going to rent it, all it takes is Keanu Reeves in a movie to fuck it up. See: The Devil's Advocate as an example.

I saw Ong Bak-Thai Warrior instead and was very satisfied with how I spent my $9. You should check that out.

^^^^ Obviously he doesn't nor does he have an interest in those things.

If you don't believe me ask him what the tats on the main characters arms are for, where they come from and the history behind them.....I'm sure he WON'T give you an answer.

As I said before don't go looking to see a break through performance or world class acting. You won't find it. Go and see it if you understand the symbolism in the movie and you have an interest in it's themes (good or bad).

BTW I felt my 5 bucks was worth it. I'm sorry you were taken for your money shep. :dead:

I'll watch ong bak thursday if I'm free.

Do any of you know anything about the cycle of changes that occur during the state of sleep particularly at the neuromuscular junction of volentary muscle cells. Does "sleep paralysis" have something to do with the activity of specific enzymes *acytalcholineesterase etc?..... just wondering

are you possibly dreaming lucidly but without muscular control or funtion?
are you picturing yourself? next time it happens try to look closely at yourself do you look how you look in the mirror or do you look like you look when you imagine yourself doing something?

Well sleep paralysis happens in REM sleep according to my psych teacher back in highschool. Basically you go thru stages 1-4 then back to 1 then REM which is where dreams occur. The body is 'paralyzed' so you don't act your dreams out and at this point you sort of wake up and you experience sleep paralysis... I don't think doctors and the such have figured it out.. but I dunno

O.K. I think I'm very close to controlling the episodes. FEAR has a lot to do with what you "feel" during the episodes. I'm going to admit the shit had me spooked and noid for a minute. It's NOT a good feeling at all and I don't wish the experience on anyone. When I started to research it and loose the fear of what was going on I was able to gain control and awake myself while experiencing it. The past couple of times I was going to experience it I stopped it from happening. Last night was a prime example. I saw this alien monster thing right above me (I was sleep) but it looked like it was positioned on a white card (like a king of hearts or something) and no it didnt move. I saw it, woke up, turned on my side (i was flat on my back) went to sleep and didnt trip.

When I was younger i had sleep paralysis alot, i didn't know what it was either, but then i stopped getting it so frequently and just last year i found out what it was that i had been experiencing all this time. And I think I know why I don't get it so frequently... most people who experience sleep paralysis do so when they sleep on their back.. i used to sleep on my back but now i sleep on my side and my stomach. I figure that i subconsciously learned to sleep on my side and stomach to lessen the sleep paralysis episodes.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I've also noticed it only happens to me when I'm sober, the bud and alcohol must suppress it, another reason I've got to have my green, man I don't even really like talkin' or thinkin' 'bout this...

Yea man^ i used to get anxiety attacks n shit when i was as young as 6 cuz of sleep paralysis, I used to have it almost every night up until i was 8 or 9. ya'll don't even know the trouble SP caused me man, and i didn't even find out that it was SP that i had until last year. I honestly thought that i was either visited by ghosts(or somethin) every night when i was younger or that i had a period where i went crazy or somethin, i'm glad i found out what it really was.

My son's mom saw the movie and loved it.
My picky brother saw it and said it was good.

Mediocre critic reviews usually indicate the movie's actually good.
I'd go peep the movie if I had someone to go with. But I'll definately pick it up when it comes out on DVD....
