i never said it was the most complex thing out there, but its pretty thought out, and the beats are whats to be looked upon as complex. xtraa, im sorry dogg, i dont like throwin the hater word around, cause i hate it when people label me as a hater, but you cant be sayin shit like that, find an inteligent, non "this guy is a faggot" aproach to this, that way yur stating oppinion, and no one can knock that playa, ya know what im sayin, anyways, this is interesting reading all yur opinions, keep um comin

To people that are expecting the same ol shit, when they hear an artist like Kanye or Common, they come off as complex to them because they're different - and they're dismissed as wack rappers cause they aint killin nobody or sellin dope. It's all relative. That's the point I was making. Maybe this topic is a little too complex for your simple ass to grasp ...

Smells like vintage haterade right there ... But that's just how I see it.
And the point I was making is that he is not complex, and even if he was, that dont make him tight. Plenty of folks do like him, enough to have one of the bigger selling records of the year, and in order to do that you generally as a rule have to appeal to the lowest common denomenator, so i don't see how you can even use the "complex" argument. I was trying to say it aint how "complex" he is, its as simple as the fact that he just aint tight to some people. And as far as the faggot comment, maybe he is, maybe he aint, but that was just jokes, not to be taken seriously. (dont be surprised when he dancin around with richard simmons in his matching john stockton shorts in his video for workout plan part 2 though)

That wasnt the approach, cuzzo. That was just some extras. The first part was the actual part that mattered.

i don't c how ANYONE who appreciates good music, can deny kanyes talent on tha board. fold.
There's a lot of people that would say they dont see how you can listen to rap period if you appreciate good music and as far as rap in the last few years I'd probably agree. To me it just shows how poor rap music has become over the years when you got folks like Kanye being considered the best that rap has to offer (I'm talkin beats AND raps, not just raps).

Most of what I listen to aint even rap these days. i listen to a lot of Raphael Saadiq and his related projects, Raheem DeVaughn, Rashaan Patterson, Erykah and old funk shit.

i dunno homie, u seem like u got a good taste in music. at FIRST i didn't like kanye cuz all tha bullshit on tha radio. goldigger, all comes down (a lil too pop for me), diamonds (also, too pop), but i seen him on mtv, behind tha music (i think thats wut its called), where he was on stage performin, and i really dug that song he dedicated to his g'mother while she wuz in icu (i went thru tha EXACT same thang wit my dad, but he didn't make it), plus that song with that maroon 5 (heard em say) and that song's very inspirational- TO ME. jus tha beat, simple, but tight as shit, dudes singin also sounds good (didn't kno that wuz tha maroon 5 dude at first). so i downloaded some songs and listened to tha shit that wasnt on tha radio, and i wuz VERY impressed. he got a song called touch tha sky, which is tight as shit, bout his trials and tribulations tryin to make it in tha industry. good, musical beat. its ur opinion so i cant change it, but u got a good taste, plus u listen to "old funk shit" so i'm surprised u don't like kanye. kanye's shit is VERY musical, and i think thats wut the new generation of hip hop is not used to. rap USED to be very musical. now it's jus beats. so i dunno......... stay up. fold.

because college dropout led me to be a fan of kanye west... i was expecting more from late registration... but the album is completely different from the first... less chipmunks which i miss... and more soulful/melody-type shit which grew on me through time... but IMO, late registration was a cent weaker than college dropout
