im tryin to hit up this electrician apprenticeship program but i dont know if its going to work out ( aot of company's arnt hiring right now due to lack of work) . i might check into this dish network
You can't go wrong with a trade though.

You get paid around 30.00 and it goes up, all while they pay for your schooling for 5 years. And then after that its butter.

You should choose a trade you might actually have an interest though...theres hell of them out there.

Too many people will choose them based on the salary, which is cool, but those people don't usually last too long.

LMAO!!!....did he have a story or what?...did he get sucked thru sum black hole, butterfly effect type shit?
Yeah, he told the manager some shit like "Well I went home that day really sick, and I ended up in the hospital for a few days..." She looked at him and was like "So you didnt think to pick up a phone huh?" He got all offended "Im not gonna stand here and be accused of lying!" and cut out. She looked at me and laughed "Damn...I gues hes REALLY not coming back now". lol.

I did before. You can actually do it on the website and someone will follow up with you for a phone interview.

If you were fired or layed off, you pretty much qualify.

But you have to make sure you tell them that you intend on working full time. I wouldn't even tell them if you're in school, because they want work to be your number one priority.

I believe the max is 450 a week before taxes. They base what you get through EDD, on your highest quarter earnings in your previous year of employment.

You would have to have been full time for at least a year to qualify as well.

yeah i do temp work right now, its just so unsteady b/c of the economy. in september i had 40 hour work weeks and now im getting 2 days a week if im lucky. and @ shea, everyone else has told me to call too, haha...heard that online gets fucked up. i think im gonna file.

i dont know if i could do that program, 5 years is a long time. I mean shit im taking two classes, next year ill be in the fire academy and after that ill get my EMT certification and ill be off looking for a job as a firefighter. It can be done in 1 year if you've got time, money and are dedicated. It's taken me 2 years with part time school.

yup.. you start at about 65k a year.. some places are more. you only work like 120 days out of the year yet still get paid as if you worked like a regular person. You typically work 2 days on 4 days off or 1 day on 2 off, depends on the fire department. Your retirement is 3% at 55.. so basically if you put in 25 years of work or 30 years of work you multiply that by 3% and thats the salary you will get paid for the rest of your life. The max you can make is 90% of your salary after retirement.. only CHP makes 100%
