IMO Taylor just showed a lack of heart. He wasnt willing to walk thru Spinks power (or lack there of) to cut off the ring and take it to him. Thats what Manny was really tryn to tell him. Stop bein a pussy, realize his chin and punching power can walk thru Cory. If Jermain cant see and do that against a Cory Spinks he definitely wont be able to do that against someone with speed and power, like a Calzaghe. If he showed that kinda heart again Joe C. he would look just like Manfredo, curled up and waiting for a picture perfect opportunity, that might never happen

Pavlik surprised me big time!
He did everything he said he would do, bully the bully.
He backed Miranda up and Miranda couldn't get any leverage in his punches going backwards. That was a very heads up move on Pavlik's part.
Goes to show the cat's pretty intelligent.
What a chin too. He took some very hard punches right on the chin and took them pretty well.
I'm gonna say this much right now, if he comes out and pressures Taylor that same way; Pavlik will beat Taylor quite easily....

Speaking of Taylor.
lmao @ boxing.
Well boxing's scoring system to be exact.
Taylor VS Spinks was a carbon copy of Mayweather VS De La Hoya.
The only difference this time is that the judges actually gave the fight to the aggressor.
Judges in boxing are the most inconsistent officials in sports.
They need to make up their minds and favor either defensive fighters, or offensive fighters. Not fucking both.

Boxing is a joke.
But....
Ironically in what could be Larry Merchant's final night of covering HBO Championship Boxing, he made a compelling point.
Why not juice boxing? I'm all for smaller rings, smaller gloves, and aggressiveness appreciating judges.
Professional boxing has slowly evolved into a boring point scoring contest very similar to amateur boxing. If boxing continues to go this route, it's going to break under MMA's pressure even faster than expected....

I don't see how people think Spinks won that fight. I can't stand the way Taylors been fighting and I do believe Winky got played out of the decision against him, but he clearly took this one. He landed the harder punches and was landing more towards the end and throwing less. Spinks looked fast but wasn't connecting.

On the other hand Pavlik/Miranda definetely lived up to the hype and should've been the main event. What an impressive performance by Pavlik. I thought he'd buckle under the pressure but he was the one putting on the pressure.

Miranda got his ass beat. I'm not that suprised that he lost, just surprised he got beat down so badly. Very entertaining fight though as it was expected to be. I should have left the Casino immediately afterwards.

Jermain Taylor is joke, seriously. He couldn't even knock out a dude that seemed like Spud Webb next to him? Pathetic. Taylor is paper champion. The only thing he proved tonight is that he is really good at NOT losing.

Hell no it wasn't! Taylor VS Spinks was one of the most boring fights I've seen in a long ass time. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I remember by like the 7th or 8th round Taylor landed like 7 punches per round and Spinks landed like 6. Pathetic!

At least Mayweather was accurate with his shots, Spinks was at like 13%.

The reason Taylor is such a joke is here he is fighting a smaller guy, who has ABSOLUTELY NO punching power (only 11 KO's and like 36 wins??!!) and Taylor barely throws any punches. Taylor looks like a beast, if he really wanted to he could probably put Spinks on the canvas by like the 3rd/4th round.

The only difference this time is that the judges actually gave the fight to the aggressor.
Spinks landed like 13% of his shots and zero of his punches fazed Taylor, whereas Taylor had a higher percentage and landed the cleaner/harder punches. That's why he lost.

Larry Merchant's best points were 1). "I'd rather be watching a debate between Obama and Hillery" and 2). "Crunk is a word used in the south that means "hot" and boy this fight is going to be crunk!"

Did you see the Miranda/Pavlik fight or did you not? I thought I saw a slugfest but maybe I'm wrong. Taylor is a douchebag. He fights like a douchebag. His last three prior fights were douchebaggery at it's finest and all three fights were disputed. Taylor is probably one of least exciting middleweight champions of all time and certainly should not be used as the face of boxing.

I was impressed with that Miranda/Pavlik fight. That was one of the most entertaining fights i've seen in a long time. I don't remember being very impressed with Pavlik when i last saw him, but he did his thing last night.

Taylor Spinks was one of the most boring fights i've seen in a long time. I fell asleep at least 3 times.

I've never been excited/enthused while watching a Jermaine Taylor fight. Dude has the build of a brawler, but is a very cautious and technical fighter (at least in the few fights I've seen).
