Yeah their was an old show taped in like 2002-2003 The Top 20 MC's of all time and on that list Tupac was #1 and Gay-Z was like 4 or something. But they made a new list of like the top ten rappers or something and Tupac was #2 and Gay-Z was one.

Go to www.riaa.com and see the numbers for yourself. It's not like Jay-Z's success is some big secret anyway. It's really just a small handful of you (by comparison) that refuse to accept it.

No doubt. People that disagree probably don't listen to him, and are judging off of what they hear on the radio.

Jay makes it seem more effortless than any Emcee I've ever heard, he found the perfect balance IMO, making great records without sacrificing lyricism...

only jay-z album i purchased was the black album..did not like it...
his best album, and one of the greatest hip hop albums is reasonable doubt..who hasn't heard about jay-z the man was in the media since 96! you couldn't escape it! lol so i think people can make a fair assesment based on that imo...
is he the greatest rapper alive? no...
is he the most successful rapper alive..maybe...
but also, what are we basing this on? what makes someone the greatest rapper alive?
