do you know his life story? Read up on it. Dude been through some shit and hes done alot. Stop hatin. Hes a good man, no matter what your political views are
Where am I ''hatin'' in this topic? Thanks, though, for using the most overused bullshit term in internet history.

He's been ''through some shit''...great. I asked a QUESTION, expecting an answer. That is all. I asked HOW and WHY he is an ''honorable'' man.

Honestly L.D.S. I don't even think now is the proper time to debate Obama's presidency. I think right now is such an extraordinary moment in American history. You have to just let it soak in, man.

There'll be plenty of time before 1/20/09 to talk about the direction he'll lead the country, debate the choices he picks for his cabinet, etc.
I don't care, Neb. There's no time like the president.

I would honor McCain because of the way he suffered for his country and the men in his infantry/unit. I sure as shit would never enter the military. I have this thing about authority, and it prevents me from ever wanting to entertain the thought of possibly becoming a POW in some foreign country.

This argument is going to boil down to your interpretation of honorable and mine.
I'm not doubting that he may be honorable; I was just asking why he is honorable. You stated he was...I was just asking why. I, personally, think he is, but I'm not afraid to admit that.

Let's change the slant of this...what are YOUR thoughts and opinions, along with your expectations of President Obama?

I like Obama. He's a likeable man. I haven't seen much of his personality. What I have seen is exactly what he wants me to see, and that leaves me skeptical. What you're reading from my posts, rather, what you should read, is that I'm pessimistic about charismatic people. When I watch him, I see a real man, while other times I watch him and he sounds like he's just putting on and saying all the right keywords.

I can definitely live with MY black president. But I will remain skeptical until I feel I've seen the real Barack Obama.

Yet you saw the ''real'' John McCain?

I know more about McCain's past than I do Obama's. The Ayre's speculative friendship has made me question Barack since it was released.
That's fair; but because you aren't as informed on Obama's past, that makes him any less than John McCain. If you didn't vote for that reason, I salute you.

Also...the Ayre speculation is just that. Speculation, until proven otherwise.
