I actually think some of the tightest rappers in the game are white/latin and from the east coast. Vinnie Paz destroys the mic, i'd put my money on him anyday. Necro, Ill Bill, R.A., Big Pun (rip) but they could body and rapper out nowadays.

I listen to it all. but i favor dope lyrics over race anyday. If dude can spit, than thats all there is too it. Give credit where its due.

With the emergence of artist like Em latin artist like fat joe, Big Pun RIP, even locally with loki, C-Dubb etc...Is race still a factor in what sells or doesn't sell? Or is that thought process overrated because even back in the day you had artist like 3rd bass the beastie boys etc. i'm just wondering what the people here on the siccness think about this subject... With hip hop now changing the culture of every part of our society you are seeing it on talk shows, commercials even with the president. Bigger then just race has rap 9hip hop) changed the whole culture of how america and the world looks at Race, whether in music or not???

Food for thought holla at your boy....

Race will always be a factor in Hip-hop music. Its a Black art form...Does race determine what sells? Not really. If you look chronologically at the highest selling rap records you will see its more about regions blowing up.

for some people it is, for some people its not. me personally i dont give a shit, i care more about what type of music theyre doing. like when i think of equipto i dont really think "why is this asian-columbian guy rapping with a black accent?" i just think "now theres a dope ass rapper!"
