you can settle on a loan.... I just had a client that owed $8100 on a car... they settled out for $4100

.. no doubt.. I should have been more specific.. I've worked with two different clients that were defaulted car notes/repos and we had incredible settlement authority..
No settlements on student loans BUT sometimes if you have a lump sum you can get them to knock off the penalties and interest.. a lot of times the collection agency doesnt get paid on that part of the debt anyway.
Also- child support ... I've never known anyone thats gotten CS placed on their credit report.. does it happen often..? anyone know how far in arears you have to be before they'll do that..?

I have a few of Suzies books and shit, its good reference material and shit, dont ever watch her show though. the key to raising credit scores is to get rid of bad accounts and get some revolving accounts that are lengthy that you constantly make timely payments on. If you are young, a 3 yr car payment plan will work well, if you pay it off too soon, it doesnt work as well, it shows more consistancy with a longer loan then a shorter one.

If you are really serious you should pick up the set of books by Suzie, its well worth the money. I got my FICO score up to about 765 now, im 25 yrs old and dont have any negative shit on my report. It helps alot when you go get a car for loans and shit like that, you get top notch rates and they dont give you the run around.
