The moors were in the south of Sicily and were there barly long enough to create that big of a change in the blood of the people. If sicilians had african blood flowing through them then y would all the major mafioso families (they were all from sicily) be racists and hate blacks?

Also most the moors were more arab then black, it was a muslim army that was a mix of arab, black, and greek blood.

I'm not sure about anything you guy's are talking about, but to answer your question - it's the same reason they are racist and hate blacks, they are ignorant.

Actually, Sicilians aren't pure blooded ANYTHING. Along with African blood, they've got Phoneician and Greek blood from the earliest times. On top of that, after the fall of Rome - the Visgoths and other barbarians migrated and settled in the warmer climates of the mediterranean and assimilated.

The Saracens (Moors) had conquered all of Sicily and Southern Italy (all the way up to Rome at one point) from 800 C.E. to 1127 C.E. 300 + years is more than enough time to change the racial landscape.

On a side note, not all slave owners were cruel to their slaves. My father told me that his friend's anscestors owned slaves, and they treated them with dignity. So much so that the slaves took the family's last name. Soak on that.

what dignity is there in slavery? i dont care how good a master treated his slave(s),in the end,hes still a slave master.....and alot of slaves took the last name of the master,it wasnt to be nice,it was to say "he's mine".......
