yes,vibration is sound,sound is vibration
i had a long ass argument with a friend about this, the only reason he wouldnt agree with me is cause his teacher told him that it makes no sound, and hes to dumb to think for himself

it may not make harmonical sound since no one(living) is around to interpret it.

but anything else in the woods will know what happened from the vibrations it gave off

jus my 2 scents

what does that have to with noone being around.. there are lots of trees in forest around the world which noone knows that they exicst.. but they are there otherwise there wouldn't be a forest at all.. they where all discovered at one point

things happen weither people see them or not. thats fact.

if a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound? yes it does. to say somthing never happend because no one witnessed it, is rediculous.

if a rock falls off a thousand foot cliff into water did it make any waves? same fucking question. same answer regaurdless wiether people were around to witness it or not. its action reaction.

falling tree > vibration > vabration travels through the air > thus makes sound

proven sience

or the tree has to stand somewhere in space

I don't know what you are trying to prove.. but things happen eventhough you are not around to withness it..

small example: I'm typing this without you noticing (sp?) , right?
but it doesn't mean that I didn't typ it because you were not here to notice me typ.

there are 64billion people walking on this earth without that you know them all.. doesn't mean that they don't exicst and that they don't do anything during their daily live

i'm not trying to prove or disprove anything, i'm just asking questions.

If "falling tree > vibration > vabration travels through the air > thus makes sound" like you said.

How can it make a sound if there is no ear to hear it?
There has to be something to receive the vibration and translate the vibrations into "sound" no?

"there are 64billion people walking on this earth without that you know them all.. doesn't mean that they don't exicst and that they don't do anything during their daily live"

Does it?

Or . . .

If a tree falls and there is no one to hear it, could there not only be no sound, but the that tree would continue to exist in both fallen and non-fallen states until someone comes along to experience it in one or other states?

Is human observation not only necessary for the physical world to have meaning, but actually create the physical reality to be observed?

Can't truth be taken by whatever a person percieves to be the case or wants to be the case?

Do two people witness an event the exact same way? If not, which is the actual truth? Is either? What if you're not one of the two people?
