i guess. i mean thats cool that he's doing his thing, but to quote immortal technique "if you go platinum it's got nothin to do with luck, it just means a million people are stupid as fuck." you saw the type of crowd that sold out his show in NY, those are the type of cats that will jump on whatever's hot right now and forget about it as soon as the next big thing comes along.

call me a hater (that word is thrown around so much these days it dont mean shit anyway), but i just cant support this cat's music or his whole movement. i dont like the fact that people like lil b and soulja are bigger influences on our youth today then zion i, talib kweli, malcolm x or any intelligent black man probably ever will be. and these cats are influencing youngstas to be "pretty bitches" who only give a fuck about material ass shit and getting pussy. im not down with that.

all you niggas talking about "success," and "getting money" need to reevaluate your standards. if sucking dick in public became the next big thing to get rappers put on, you niggas would be quick to grab some flavored lube and say "nigga im gettin mine, don't hate" with a mouth full of cum.

it looks like he's becoming pretty successfull to me.......you aint gotta be a good rapper to be successfull, you just gotta be good at the music industry......he obviously is better at the industry than most cats period......your talkin bout influence but your on bart player! isnt this board historicly based on music about pimpin, slangin, mobbin? your mentioning Talib, and Technique, and on a bay area music board about a bay are musician.......your comparing him to people that are from another part of the country and a whole other style of music that not everyone has to feel as much as you do, and just cus you feel it doesnt make it any more real then Lil B's shit........and c'mon...your really gonna bring Malcom X into this? your logic can be used for damn near any artist on this board, but for some reason its just on Lil B, i guess cus he's the most successfull..........

i dont like where hip hop has been goin for 10 years, but it is what it is, Lil B's doin music for the youngsters, let them have that..........im too old for his shit and it wont get no play in my ride, but i congratulate him..........

I dont fuck with his music or his movement but Its always nice to read about a young black man having success rather then reading about a young black man getting killed over some bullshit. Your not a hater if you think he's garbage or gay but don't make it seem like his success is making you lose sleep. Hell a Cali artist getting love anywhere this day and age let alone New York should be enough to respect his hustle no matter how you feel about dude.

i dont buy into the hate. lil b aint my fave artist but im feeling what he doing and his buzz and I HOPE HE BLOWS UP....most of the REAL negativity in this thread is from those "artists and rappers" who aint making no kind of noise and yet feel their opinion is gospel.

trust me bruh, if YOU were doing something right, maybe there would be threads on the siccness for us to discuss you....the way i see it, if you aint making moves and getting your name out there, sure you can have an opinion, but how valuable is it, or you, really??? this is directed at anyone who hates on lil b but has no alternatives.

and if your answer is, "im not happy with the direction hip hop is going in", then do something real about it or shut the fuck up cuz u cant stop progression whether u agree with the direction or not
