random question off topic, but how is that job for you? that job sounds like interesting work. do you need a master's in that field? any answers are appreciated
For the particular company I work for a master's was required. But generally speaking, any degree in marketing, pyschology, and/or sociology would help.

come on, man.

^ that is exactly how you are projecting logan ave to be right now.

an overdramatization of real life.

maybe due to me not banging, logan was never "land of triggery gun play"...you know....to me the mexicans lived there..thats it...i never got ran up on even for tagging in logan..and i did alot of that...i walked through logan ALOT....more than i can tell you...i didnt have a car for a long time in my life...

no disrespect..but due to you bieng mitchy slick..

YOU couldnt walk through logan or other areas maybe..
i never had that problem..

i had to fight or carry weapons at times like everyone else but thats part of life, it never made me afraid of any one area...it wasnt like i was literally shaking in my boots to walk around bay vista or the apartments across from 47th street...as kids we used to ask people for weed like that...

you need to understand i took the 11 all my life and wrote all over these areas...thats skyline avenue through the dip to logan ave to downtown..thats all i knew..

when i was 17 i worked on el cajon blvd man...southern props...they also had a store on 27th across from the dip you probably knew about at a point..i aint work there then though..

i dont wanna fight with you though man, its all good...san diego has some rough people but its not that bad of a city altogether..including southeast..

to me on GP if you profile in someone elses hood on some wrong gang wrong color shit and you get caught slipping thats just life...that dosent make san diego beruit..

ive seen some real shit but that dosent make me feel like san diego is just super bad...maybe i have san diego fucked up...but yeah..ive walked through all of sd my man...

oh and i want to say RIP to your homie a lost life on these streets is not funny..im in no way downplaying the real violence that happens out here.

Your comfort level is naturally determined by your level of familiarity. (The more familiar, the more comfortable) For example, most people feel more comfortable talking to a long time friend as opposed to a complete stranger. The same theory applies to your environmental surroundings. Gas, you grew up in the southeast and you're very familiar with its history and the way things operate there. Just because you feel safer walking around in southeast SD as opposed to compton (just an example), doesn't mean that southeast SD is less active, or dangerous, than compton. You're just LESS FAMILIAR with compton, so your comfort level is low.

Everyone feels more comfortable, or safe, at home.

I'm white,my family has owned a business in SE for 50 years, and know damn well what goes on in them streets. Most people know what the media says. Most shit that happens in them streets never is going to make the news therefore people believe the fucking area has become OK. NOT TRUE.That shit is all political, the government wants to repaint the SE, build high rises and have people pay premium cash to live in the "DownTown" atmosphere. Well they got a ballpark, rebuilt Lincoln(shoulda been rebuilt a fucking 100 years ago but they didn't give a shit back then),gotta new fire station, and some new housing is being built, but just watch those big dollar yuppies WILL get ganked on by the SAME people that never left the SE by having Zero Street Sense. What I'm saying is Don't make a judgement by what ya see on the news or by what ya see in the GasLamp at the Clubs, veer off 3 blocks from the most popular shit and take a look.

and ill leave mitchy slick to the computer fighting and telling us vivd stories about pop warner, i aint got time for the fights and shit on the internet about san diego as ive lived here 25 out of 27 years of my life and i dont need a fuckin rapper to tell me about my city.

ive made my point...many times....people feel me on that...
a few others made points....i feel them on that...

and a few people keep bieng overdramatical and missed the points and continue acting like little kids....

thats basically the bottom line, its cool either way.. i feel a few of yall are overexagerrating quite a lot, but its cool....not worth getting riled up about.

i just read this...

definately. i wanted to make that point , i just didnt know how to word it. good looks on doing it for me.

That said, a persons intuition of said 'danger' is a psychological reaction to trouble bieng present.

In a demographic sense

san diegos ghettos are tucked away. you dont accidently end up in south east san diego on some "i took the wrong turn" shit.

which leaves me to my point. who exactly is in south east san diego besides its residents? how often do people in lower income communities see a new face just whistling dixy?

take away the regular people who coexist in san diego, the "busters" who bang but dont really do shit to begin with, and we have a couple handful of riders who commit crimes in the 4th biggest city in america.

im sorry, but all im saying is that a few people deciding to do some grimy shit does not constitute a city as bieng ridiculously violent.

Seattle is statistically the 2nd whitest city in the US....right behind Portland.
actually there wuz a suprising number of brothas out that way when I was there in the NorthEast (7th and Jessup if I remember correctly)... right across the street form the projects (but they wuz the nicest looking project that i'd ever seen!) Yeah, I wuz surprised as hell... they even gotta MLK Blvd out there... Plus, I heard that the state of Oregon was the first one to allow black folks to obtain Doctorates so that could explain a few things... lastly, no sales tax... I mean how many of y'all brothas like breakin off the gov every time you cop sumptin? Buy a burrito for 3.50 and actually git 2 quarters back instead of the total comming out to sumptin like 3.78 and getting a shit load of change....
