Are you serious man? Check out any single turbo supra with the right fuel setup and they are making over 500 horsepower. It doesnt matter what kind of car you have. You need cash to go fast and whoever has the most cash goes the fastest.
You can add a 25% underdrive pulley to a Terminator and easily achieve over 435 horse.

nice car mane, i cant hate on it, whatever makes you happy makes you happy, congrats...

me personally, i would have looked for something else. if i had 40 grand i probably wouldnt have gotten a Dodge. my homie has a charger wagon and its a gas guzzler. plus ive noticed that everybody and their moms has a chrysler 300 c or a new charger...

but still chargers are nice, and plus not too many people got the sr/t package so that makes it more unique... nice whip no doubt

2008 Dodge Charger SRT8®: The Family Muscle Sedan

The 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8® packages all of the features and amenities expected of an excellent family sedan combined with benchmark performance delivered by Chrysler Group’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT®) vehicles.

For the Dodge Charger SRT8, key SRT ingredients 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8
include 6.1-liter, 425-horsepower (317-kW) HEMI® power, world-class ride and handling, benchmark braking, functional and aggressive-looking exterior enhancements, and a race-inspired interior.

The all-around performance of the 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 is outstanding for a muscle sedan: 0-60 mph in the low 5-second range, quarter-mile time in under 14 seconds, braking distance from 60-0 mph in approximately 110 feet and 0.89 g on the skid pad. The Dodge Charger SRT8 also accomplishes SRT’s signature performance test of 0-100-0 mph in less than 17 seconds.
Design

The functional performance of the Dodge Charger SRT8 is reflected in its exterior. The front fascia integrates ducts that help direct fresh air to cool the brakes, and an air dam to reduce lift. The hood is equipped with a scoop to funnel cool air into the engine compartment.

The rear fascia features integrated lower strakes to direct air flow, and aggressive cutouts to accommodate dual 3.5-inch exhaust tips. A dramatic deck-lid spoiler set on dual stanchions increases downforce for high-speed stability and traction.

Available exterior colors for the
2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 are Bright Silver Metallic, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Steel Blue Metallic Clear Coat and TorRed.

Race-inspired interior appointments in the 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 start with the available SRT-exclusive Reconfigurable Display (RCD). Additional interior enhancements for 2008 include new dark slate gray interior color with agate-color accent stitching, carbon-fiber leather-trim door handles and carbon-fiber leather-trim steering wheel, and LED lighting in the front cup holders and front and rear door-map pockets.

Befitting its high-performance character, the 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 continues to provide power-adjustable, deeply sculpted and highly bolstered sport seats in the front, fitted with performance suede inserts to hold occupants during maneuvering. Rear seats have matching performance suede inserts.

Full instrumentation includes a 180-mph (300-kph) speedometer, a tachometer and a coolant temperature gauge. A light-emitting-diode (LED) display within the gauge cluster is driver-configurable for oil temperature, oil pressure and tire pressure readouts.

Engineering

The 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8’s 425-horsepower (317-kW), normally aspirated 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 produces 420 lb.-ft (569 N-m) of torque, achieved by displacement, increasing the compression ratio, and redesigning the cylinder head and intake and exhaust systems for better flow and increased engine speed (versus the 5.7-liter HEMI).

Power for the SRT 6.1-liter HEMI is channeled through a five-speed automatic transmission with specially calibrated, driver-selectable Auto Stick, which offers fully automatic or manual shifting selection.

Chassis setup on the 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 includes SRT-tuned dampers, tailored spring rates and suspension bushings, and large-diameter anti-sway bars. For added stability and aerodynamic benefit, the ride height of the 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 is one-half inch lower than the Dodge Charger. Handling is engineered for performance with an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) tuned for the 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8.

The 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 rides on 20-inch aluminum, SRT-designed wheels. A new 20-inch polished, forged-aluminum wheel is available for all 2008 Dodge SRT8 models.

Benchmark braking performance comes from Brembo four-piston brake calipers on all four wheels, gripping a vented disc – 360 mm x 32 mm up front, with 350 mm x 26 mm in the rear.

Enhancing the total driving experience, is the available Kicker premium sound system with driver-selectable surround sound for all audio inputs. For rear-seat passengers entertainment all-new SIRIUS BackSeat TV™ system is available. SIRIUS Backseat TV features three channels of respected children’s TV from the most well-known kids’ programming: Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network. SIRIUS Backseat TV operates via an in-vehicle satellite video receiver and two small roof-mounted antennas

Yes I know. My buddy has a twin screw 2.2L kenne bell 03 cobra. Im just saying I dont think this guy is looking at performance. He is looking at brand. And by the way I have a 93 cobra with a 347. So I do drive american cars.
The HEMI engines are very receptive to power adders, though. It might cost more to apply them, but they are easy to install and usually gain good numbers. A '93 Cobra w/ a stroker motor is pretty serious business. My buddy has a GT with a stroked motor and is putting down high 11's.

Uh, your comparing a zr1 corvette which will be 100k + to a 40k car.
yes, yes i am

Actually real engineering would be the Nissan Gt-r. As much as I hate an import this car will dominate 99% of the cars on the road.
ever seen a ls1 eat an r34? i have. real talk.

the r34 didn't dominate 99% of the cars on the road, so i doubt this new one will. but im looking forward to test driving the r35 or 37, 38, 39...whatever the fuck they wanna call it.

Nice whip, I don't see the problem with going to SD on a new engine. You need to break it in anyways, Just as long as you don't smash.
thats exactly what he did; he smashed.

There is more to driving that going in a straight line. The Ls1 would get smashed on a road track.

No offense man but are you spouting off at the mouth? There are very few NA cars that will run 11's. Those that do are big money cars. If you want to get any cheaper car into the 11's your going to do it two ways. Forced induction or opening the motor up. Mustang, Camaro, TA it doesnt matter to get into the 11's with all motor your going to need to open the block up.

My 93 makes 360rwhp and 380 tq. Its a 347 eagle forged with afr 185 heads w/ upgraded springs, holley systemax 2 intake, ed curtis custom cam, 24lb injectors, long tube headers. Ive never taken it to the track but on the street I went dead even with an 490rwhp 03 cobra from a 3rd gear roll to the top of 4th.
