and to think all these people want to keep iraq held hostage simply to smear a president they dont like.

WE WILL BE HEROES IN IRAQ!!!
I don't think I ever finished my post, I may've come across like I believe that the Iraqi people will not be happy that we removed Saddam from power. That is not what I'm saying, I think they will be relieved that they are freed from his rule. But I don't agree with the way your portraying the "hero" title....

Getting rid of a leader in Arabia where Democracy is so un-heard of, we will destroy this country. I bet that it takes a very long time to have iraq even functional. Also it will threaten other royal families because their time is next. All we have to do is say they are a threat to our safety.

If we put a sanction on them and required the leader to respond a certain way and he didnt, so all his people began starving, and we let it go for a decade... who started the peoples starvation? We did. We put the sanctions on them. Theres other ways to go about business then by killing off a whole country for one man.
so why arent you so ecstatic that the sanctions will be lifted and now iraqis will eat? you should be happy!!! come on now, you have to be consistent here.

you aint being consistent. you go ahead &
admit that the sanctions were imposed by the
u.s., that they failed to hurt saddam's power
& that in fact they stregnthened his power
by eliminating much of the middle class, widening
the gap between rich & poor & lining his son's
pockets w/ money as he took advantage of
the blackmarket created by the embargo. you
go ahead & admit that saddam was able to further
line his pockets w/ blackmarket oil, due to the
embargo. come on, be consistent.

i can admit that!!!

you cant admit that this would be all over if saddam took advantage of numerous chances!!!

BUT ITS ALL OUR FAULT!!! NOT ONE PERSON ASKING SADDAM TO GET OUT FOR THE SAKE OF HIS PEOPLE.

NOT ONE!!!!

I AM CONSISTENT.

I think he could have stepped down in the last 48 hours and wed still attack. It didnt matter what he would have done, so we make it look like he caused it all.

Do you think if Saddam would have actually givin himself up a few days ago, that the USA wouldnt attack his country?

@Gizmo, i see it being worse because all of the people that Saddam didnt have control of before will now fight to win the country. The USA will have to pick a tribe to lead like we did in Afghanistan, and that will leave the other groups to start their civil wars. I think lifting Saddams power will only start a new wave of endless struggles for control between the ones who arent put in his place when the war is over.

Youre kidding right? The U.S. put sanctions on Iraq knowing damn well that it wasn't gonna hurt Saddam...all it would hurt is the Iraqi people.

What you're saying is the same as Saddam torturing little kids to get information out of their parents...then justifying it by saying, "I'M not keeping them in pain, their parents are for not giving up the info."

bad analogy. actually it only goes to prove my point more.

thanks!!!

what fucking parent would allow their children to be tortured to withhold information? come on dog. i see where you guys are coming from but you still dont admit that saddam had his chance to help those people AND YOU WONT CRITICIZE HIM FOR IT EITHER. BUSH IS TAKING THOSE PEOPLE OUT OF THAT SITUATION AND HE GETS THE CRITICISM!!!! like i said, it requires logic to understand these basic principles here and being liberal means you have forsaken logic.

Actually it was a good analogy. And yes, it does prove your point somewhat (and I actually agree with your point to an extent)...but you're missing mine.

what fucking parent would allow their children to be tortured to withhold information? come on dog. i see where you guys are coming from but you still dont admit that saddam had his chance to help those people AND YOU WONT CRITICIZE HIM FOR IT EITHER.
Wrong. I do criticize Saddam for it. I'm not one of those people who refuses to blame Saddam for anything...I support his removal. But youre making it one sided...basically saying that because Saddam is such a horrible ruler, that anything the U.S. does to his people is okay. You asked, "what fucking parent would allow their children to be tortured to withhold information?" A pretty fucking awful one (Saddam)...but that doesnt mean that the torturers (U.S. government) shouldn't be blamed as well.

Maybe because they don't buy into the government propaganda bullshit. Like most seniors were raised up on as a way of life.
or because alote are brainwashed by the left in colleges where most professors are leftists and against this president. and some presessors give extra credit to those who walk out of class and protest. this is also going on at the high school level
