How would you articulate the differences between East Coast and West Coast rap?

u must be joking, there are tons of sick lyricist in california... it aint baout lyrics, its about getting your music out to the masses....
until our local stations change and start putting out the dope local tracks then we aint gonna get noticed.... labels look at it liek this,, if u aint making waves in yo home town then how they know u gon sell on a national level........

east coast beats: jus like mentioned earlier, beat driven, not musically driven. that's y dr. dre if fallin off (in my opinion, respect that). listen to 50 cent album. dre's beats are gettin more new yorkish by the year. it's like east coast producers (excludin neptunes and timbaland) jus create a sequence and jus loop it and loop it and make it a song. personally, i do not feel east coast BEATS cuz they bore me. they get TOO repetitious, there's no substance or "life" in they beats.
west coast beats: more musically driven. i think tha west coast puts ALOT more into their production than the east coast. when a beat plays, it doesnt stay the same thru tha whole beat. they add instruments, then drop it, then sprinkle it with somethin else. as far as folx above sayin west coast ain't got no producers, lay off tha pipe. look at khayree's blaccalation album. that shit is a classic. ain't NO east coast producer puttin out MUSIC like that.
east coast lyrics: i admit, east coast got clever lyrics, but tha shit jus don't appeal to me. they do put more time into they lyrics, but me, i'm a street nigga so "h to tha izzo" or "girls, girls, girls", or "jus give me tha light" don't fuccin appeal to me. when they spit, i can't feel tha passion in they delivery.
west coast lyrics: i don't give 2 fuccs bout ya'll sayin that west coast rap tha same shit all tha time. so? i'd rather hear bout street shit then bling bling shit ayeday. i'm not into metaphors and folx that dig east coast are. i'm not. i like simple, ride on a bitchmade motha fucca type shit. MY OPINION. west coast got passion when they rap. when they spit, u could feel it cuz it comes from the heart. also, the thang bout west coast is everyone got they own voice. when u hear snoop, u kno it's him. when u hear killa tay, u kno it's him. when u hear droop or lynch, u kno it's them. east coast niggas all sound tha same. jadakiss sound like styles. mase, camron, all them sound tha same. not EXACTLY tha same, but they don't hav no signature sound to themselves like when u hear cougnut, or t-nutty, or c-lim. jus my opinion, don't knocc it.
